This link was posted a while back by someone showing a load of really good ideas for the XPro / Madrat:

Not sure where you'll be able to buy the parts though as it doesn't look like Ansmann will be bringing them in now

I really hoped Ansmann would bring all the upgrades for the mad rat although i have to say im not surprised if they dont, as its exactly what they did to the hurrax 1/5, they only seem interested in moving boxes rather than supporting a product fully.
They moan when you buy from h/kong to get the kit for half price then they seem happy for you to go and get the upgrades from there:confused:

Battle_axe 03-08-2009 07:24 PM

i hoped they would well i guess i will have to get down the metal shop and make the bits i want up

budgio 06-08-2009 12:25 PM

The parts are available now direct from TeamC.
Email them at
[email protected]
I,m not sure on the prices yet though

thought they weren't banned from selling to the UK? or does that only cover kits?

hopefully Jamie can confirm what hop-ups are in the pipeline

DCM 06-08-2009 12:54 PM

hop-ups are coming, I have been told, hopefully the end of the month.

Jamie.T 06-08-2009 01:08 PM

Ansmann WILL be bringing in ALL the hop-ups soon. We do support our cars and dont just "shift boxes".

We will be doing the complete range of hop-ups as listed on the team C website and many more. Keep your eyes peeled.

stampede vxlboy 18-08-2009 09:00 AM

do they make stuff for the madrat t piece and all the hop ups for the madrat team c:thumbsup:

jim76 18-08-2009 09:08 AM

team C make the madrat, Ansmann just rebrand it in Europe. Team C sell all the spares and hop ups very cheaply, but they don't have a beefed up T-piece.

stampede vxlboy 18-08-2009 09:14 AM

who make the hop ups for the madrat

who makes all the parts for the ansmann madrat all the hop ups for it

jim76 18-08-2009 09:43 AM

did you not read my post above? Team C MAKE the madrat and all the spares, and all the hop-ups. In Europe they are sold under the Ansmann name, but Ansmann don't yet have the hop-ups in stock, hence why people are buying direct from Team C in Asia.

stampede vxlboy 18-08-2009 12:39 PM

xpro cabon bits are better than the madrat bits. xpro stronger bit carbon fibre

They defiantly are stronger , i have had no breakages with my Xpro as of yet , where as my mad rat broke every time i used it (including the t-piece) and those plastic shocks are truly terrible unless your on completely flat ground

The mad rat is a great car though, especially if you put the shocks and turnbuckles off the xpro onto it, I am sure it would improve it vastly

As for those Team C hop ups i am very interested in getting some myself , Could the guy who has got some of the parts take some pictures when he has them installed as i would like to see how they fit and look on the car

Thanks ! :)

By the way how much does that brass battery tray weigh

budgio 18-08-2009 07:23 PM

The brass battery tray weighs approx 120g

jim76 18-08-2009 07:43 PM

bloody hope not! mine arrived today also. If it was 615g it would be heavier than original NiMH cells!
i don;t have any decent accurate scales, but i imagine it's a typo and it;s actually 61.5g

The alloy bulkhead is nicely made, but would have prefered all brass for the weight. Will have to wait and see how good the alloy is once it;s been run a few times. But for £2.50 it can be made of cheese for all i care!
The B4 rear driveshafts also look really good, with all the washers etc needed.

Took 4 working days from time of order. Great service. Even sent the bits in 2 packages to keep them under the limit for duty.

Jamie.T 18-08-2009 07:51 PM

As a matter of interest, where did you guys order these bits from. Any links??

budgio 18-08-2009 07:56 PM

that,ll teach me for getting my 6 yr old to weigh it lol

There isnt a link available.I emailed teamC direct and they were very helpful.

jim76 18-08-2009 08:27 PM

does your deal involve them selling spares/upgrades also Jamie? or is it just kits they aren't allowed to sell?

SuperSparkSteve 18-08-2009 08:58 PM

jameswilkinson7 18-08-2009 09:01 PM

Get one for the indoor championship at cullingworth! Get vxl boys!

sosidge 18-08-2009 09:02 PM

These parts probably won't fit a B4. Might fit an RB5 though...

I was thinking about buying the battery bar and the front arm mount if there cheap. if they dont fit then maybe attack it with a dremmel.

jim76 18-08-2009 09:09 PM

the brass tray is US$11
driveshafts were US$9
Bulkhead was US$4.10

springs were peanuts, about $1.50 per pair i think.
I got the top 3, some front wishbones, rear shock tower, and 3 sets of front and rear rims. Came to £35 inclusive, and that was including 2 lots of shipping to ensure each package was under the customs limit.
The wheels alone are £27 plus postage in the UK.
