As much as it pains me to say this....

....I think I need to get a new transmitter.

I have long been the biggest advocate of what I have labelled the "best feeling transmitter there is" - the Attack SR!!!!

However, after having interference problems pretty much all the day at the F3/4/5 finals, I was forced into using a KO tranmitter for the final.

Oh my god, what a difference!!! The Attack SR is RUBBISH!!!!!

The feeling I felt with the car was superb, I have no idea why I havent thought this before.

Therefore, is anyone selling a KO transmitter?

I use one of those wayne, bloody brilliant. Though you'd need the spektrum too so would add up. There are plenty of the 40mhz versions around for good money.

ashleyb4 16-09-2007 06:43 PM

Get he new esprit 3 universe. I have one really nice feel to it cant fault it.

super__dan 16-09-2007 06:56 PM

There's a bit of a difference in price though between a 2nd hand vantage and a new universe.

Also I'm one of many who thinks the older version feels better in terms of quality though I wouldn't turn my nose up at the new version if someone were to give me one ;)

ashleyb4 16-09-2007 07:01 PM

I personally dont like the old one after using it its heavy and clumzy and the feel isnt the same. But its all personal opinion what KO did you borrow???

tc2k 16-09-2007 07:06 PM

Ash, whatever you have is the best poissible according to you :p

ashleyb4 16-09-2007 07:08 PM

No i just dont waist my money on crap. And isnt that the reason why you buy somethign because you think its the better choice.

A:wtf:

tc2k 16-09-2007 07:11 PM

No..but you go in threads asking for advice and you just say
"I have this and everything else isnt as good"

ashleyb4 16-09-2007 07:18 PM

I never say anything else is crap unless i have had exsperiance with something AKA mtroniks = crap. And you are now saying that im not aloud my opinion.:eh?::eh?::eh?:

tc2k 16-09-2007 08:09 PM

Thats the same transmitter I used yesterday (Vermins in actual fact). Like you say, the spektrum could get a bit pricey so probably just looking for the standard 40mhz setup.

What sorta price do the stanrdard 40mhz KO systems go for?

jimarea51 16-09-2007 09:15 PM

Wayne,

I no Andy Fox's Ko tranny will be for sale very soon, I'll ask him for a price unless you want to make an offer?

As far as I can remember its got the small 40Mhz receiver and a couple of pairs of x-tals. It had new cells fitted at the start of theis year (because I fitted 'em)...

Later

Jim Dixon

As far as I know, the radio with reciever and a few crystals usually go for around £100. Someone correct me if Im way off :p :p

super__dan 16-09-2007 09:22 PM

Price depends on whether it's the newer (gold) one or not. The older ones are sub £100 with receiver for a nice looking one off the bay.

tc2k 16-09-2007 09:25 PM

One on ebay right now, finishes in an hour

super__dan 16-09-2007 09:30 PM

Maybe it's just me but I'd prefer a pukka KO receiver.

The good thing about the older (silver) one is that it works with all the receivers inc the 297 which are cheap as chips these days so when you get a 4wd you can get a receiver cheaply ;)

Is it normal practice for people to use a receiver of a different manufature to the tranny i.e. Futaba receiver and KO transmitter?

I must be honest, in all the time ive been racing the radio gear is the area ive paid the lease attention (hence the attack SR!!!)

tc2k 16-09-2007 09:50 PM

Some people do use others as they may have two cars and the KO ones can be quite pricey.
Dont think it matters whether its futaba or KO in terms of performance I think they should be the same

Dan, is it worth paying that bit extra for the Type R?

super__dan 16-09-2007 09:54 PM

Depends on price, there are no more usefull features I am aware of other than the higher responce but I'm not sure that's a load of pub BS anyway.

If one came up for good money I'd go for it as you know it's newer but if that other one stays at 60 notes, go for that!!!!

By the way Futaba make as good if not better receivers so if compatable you shouldn't worry about that.

Lee 17-09-2007 05:07 PM

Wayne you will pick up a great piece of kit for under a ton.

I bought the universe back in april because i had the KO (silver one) for 7 years, it never let me down once it was fantastic, and since moving to the universe one i noticed no difference at all, i dont know if thats a good thing or not but i will always use KO. Even with the universe i use a futaba reciever in the 2wd and the novak xxl also works.

Lee

To be honest i really got it because ash has one;):D
