Vintage Racing

Does anyone still want to have a vintage series??

And who wants to sort out rules etc for it.

Peter

Peter. For Gods sake can we not just run buggies on a decent track every week so we can all get some practice in for indoor events.
This is the kind of stupid thing that splits a club in half. Its not like we have so many buggys that we need a different class.
Leave the Fricking thing alone please.

I was going to run my RC10 in vintage until I sussed it was just as quick as my B4 (given my low ability) so now I just run it in with everyone else and it's fine. I get more satisfaction that way too.

chris68nufc 02-12-2008 08:50 PM

Im not getting at Vintage drivers or even people that like Vintage classes. The thing that makes me mad is when everything is goin well at a club and then somebody decides to split everybody by changing the cars we run. Next thing people will be bringing touring cars and making us get rid of the jumps.

turbo_brick 02-12-2008 09:43 PM

At the end of the day Chris I was asked to run one, if that's what people want that's what they'll get.

And why are you not there tonight????

Peter

Cos i knew you were going to do the vintage thing. Who wants Vintage anyway?

Why dont we all go and buy old Ford Fiestas and drive them about instead?

Why dont we run Micros? Or how about Mardaves or maybe minis?

turbo_brick 02-12-2008 10:34 PM

Whatever you want:D

If people turn up with anything then they can race it including touring cars.

Yes Chris, I would love to have a go at micros, it'll be the way forward when they knock the school down and we are looking for a new venue.
Just keep off that RC18T I'm watching on Ebay:)

Chill out everyone... Whats wrong with doing a vintage week...?

Im sick of racing buggies now anyway. My tamiya piece of sh*t fell apart tonight on the first practise lap. never even crashed it. Totally goosed so am just gonna bin it.

Still i managed to race Marks B44 all night and that went well. I think we should split the month up so as not to get bored.
Vintage racing in week 1.
Touring cars in week 2.
Micros in week 3 and
buggies in week 4....

N7ELA 02-12-2008 11:13 PM

Oh and by the way Ian ive had a look at the lap top tonight and ave mastered it. Nee bother...

You can give me that dodgy Tamiya, save weighing the bin lorry down too much:D:D

And I think having different stuff every week would be a laugh, especially touring cars what do you think Chris S

or we could all get these then when the school is knocked down we can just go and race on the beach.

Aren't you supposed to be happy on your birthday?
Or does getting older make you more irritable, Victor ?
:woot::D:);)

chrispattinson 03-12-2008 08:58 AM

Just got my 1988 Terra Scorcher prepared, for wk1, my Schumacher Axis sorted for Wk2, my TRF501X sorted for wk 3, and my LRP shark micro sorted for wk 4!!

Which touring car you getting Chris?

Trucks!!!! We need Trucks aswell!

turbo_brick 03-12-2008 09:17 AM

There's not enough weeks in the month for trucks, so we could double them up with something else, 2 classes per night sounds good.

Is it because your 30 today chris.? Aye i think its a mid life crisis...

Happy 30th Chris... You dont look a day over 29.... :D

chrispattinson 03-12-2008 11:22 AM

On a more serious note though, I am not interested in any series other than an open buggy series, whatever the age of it.
If you want to run vintage, just run with the modern stuff. My Topforce felt pretty good, until someone smashed it by driving the wrong way round the track.

Driving the wrongway round the track needs to be banned!

N7ELA 03-12-2008 12:10 PM

We could impose a penalty of a broken thumb, every time someone offends....

Chris after last nights racing im seriously thinking of converting to a B44....

chrispattinson 03-12-2008 12:34 PM

B44 is a good car, just no where near as good as a TRF (just my opinion).
I couldnt race a B44 as agressivley as my TRF, I'd be afraid of pushing it incase I broke it - the shock towers, top decks, wishbones, crown gears.

Just look at at Packs, he done a top deck and a shock tower at the weekend. What broke on your Tamiya?

N7ELA 03-12-2008 03:11 PM

Just ask Mark how hard i pushed his last night. Gave it a right hammering. Fair enough its all F**ked up now but it lasted the full 5 minutes. (Just)

I broke more things in my tamiya lately without crashing and just driving round the track normally....
