Batley work party this thursday evening (6th sept)

Gents,

Steve Lawson has spoken to me, he's keen to try and get a work party going this thursday ahead of this weekends club race and the interclub (date still yet to be confirmed).

We'll both be there from 5 with view to levelling the straight and general track work as a priority but also lay some more astro subject to enough people being able to help.

All hands MUCH appreciated!

John can you email this to all the people on the mailing list please?

Cheers,

Dan

I should be able to make it after work, it'll be after 6:30 though.

Live a little too far awat tbh, but I have a question....

Where's the new astro planned for? Down the back? I think it would be wasted there.

I agree G, it's not been mentioned since the regional but that's where Lawson wanted to put it.

I will try to get the concrete covered, the extra sections at start and end of banking and then over the worn out sections in current track. I realise you do live miles away, thanks anyway!

Dan, in my opinion the last thing the grass area needs is more 'patchwork' astro. Pull up the random bits of astro that are in the grass area at the moment and let the sun and rain at them, they will re-seed naturally. If they are not raced on over the winter the grass will be as good as new next year.

Agree on the banking and the concrete.

It doesn't all have to be used right now. It would be nice to save some to use on some fresh new permanant jumps in my opinion. Could be a work-part idea for over the winter, to get the track ready for next years national* ;) :D :D

Also, if it was up to me, I would pull all the random and broken fence posts out and just put up a orange catch fence for BRCA events. Would make cutting the grass easier, and the guy who cuts the other area might actually cut the grass area (might be worth asking someone about that???).

* I do not know if Batley will be applying for a National next year, but it would be nice to see it back on the calander imho.

if they do get it back as a national, something needs to be done about getting caravans and camper vans on easer, no idea how, may be drive down the grass banking at the top of the carpark lol,

Carl, how is it any different to how it has always been?

G, you used to be able to put the caravans on the top of the banking until they built the skateboard park.

You can't come through the car park due to the height restriction on the bridge to the leisure centre.

You could try the wall of death slope onto the pitch.....

going down easy, going back up..

caravan wrecker!!

DID YOU GO AND SEE THE VECTRA ESTATE??
