Do I need a slipper clutch for my B64

Hi I have run my B64d on a couple of Astro tracks now and am getting it dialled in quite nicely, but I'm wondering if it's worth getting the slipper clutch for it.
Has anyone run with both setups and is there a big difference?

Hi,

I've run the B64d on astro (small indoor track) with both the diff and the slipper.
I've also run the b44.3 with the diff and slipper on the same astro track.

It's much better with the slipper for astro.

What I found with the diff, even with heavy oil (1/2 milion) when you got on the power most of the power went to the front. But the front lifted so just the front wheel would spin.

With the slipper the drive was always 50/50 front - rear. So even when the front got light under power you still got drive to the rear.

So high traction run the slipper.

I firstly tried with heavy centre diff oil then went on to buy the 64 slipper kit I've not removed the slipper since far better 50/50 front and back far more controllable

Thanks for the info, sounds like I need to buy one.
Do you need the different shafts? I'm shore I heard someone say the slipper still fits.

Hi,

Slipper is a different length to the the diff.
So you need the slipper specific dog bones as well.

Definitely you need the slipper..
I haven't got it yet and I've been killing front tires at every race.
Even with 1 million oil.
.. the good thing is.. rear tires last much longer!
The annoying thing is having to spend 60 quids for the conversion..

I think I payed 47£ for the kit and 10£ for the bones it's definitely worth having the option
