I plan to join in the next few days and would appreciate a little help with tyre choices for the Tiverton track for my 1/10 electric touring car , While i realise this can be a personal thing to suit a particular car / driver / setup your opinions would be very much appreciated

Also while im asking questions , I read on the club page about personal transponders ! I would seem that i could borrow one from the club if required in the short term but in the longer term can they be bought thru the club ? If not where would i get one from .
When i was last racing the transponders we used required a hole in the bodyshell , do the personal ones require the same ?

I don't know what tyres people run as i only race off road but you can buy transponders here:

They only require fitting with double sided tape and a very small these days about 5mm thick and 20mm square. They are powered from the receiver and mine are left fitted to my cars permanantly unless i change class.

As for tyres I'm in the same boat as Paul as I normally run off road as well, but I have done a few test runs with my touring car and ran Sorex 28's which worked quite well, I've also been informed that RP30's work well by another racer but I've never tried them.

I found tyres will depend on temp, i normally run 27 - 32 on warm to hot days if it colder try 22 - 24

But dont worry to much as CS27 will normally be ok unless its really cold

Wets normally are only one grade
