Thats what the spares are for, just in case we need another one for a mold. Once we can get the layshaft pullies correct then the diff gears will be next and the ones I will be testing are a different design and super smooth diffs making it easier to work on compared to the gritty diff design in the standard kit

Please keep us up to date, especially when the new parts will be available for all Lazer racers ;) !!

Welsh what is the differance between the UMW305 and the LA118 material or design ???

Welshy40 06-10-2009 04:55 PM

LA118 is a harder material where as UMW305 is a much lighter material. I use one of the lighter ones but the problem is if you over tighten the screw threads you wreck it as you kill the threads.

isobarik 07-10-2009 05:24 AM

LA118 is metal is the 305 umw that also ???

mvh isobarik

Welshy40 07-10-2009 07:22 AM

Ive kindof worked out why they have five parts (not four) as its supposed to give strength, and in some instances the brace on the top of the gearbox (the item that slots into the top of the top sections) is rigid and increases the front end strength but the weakness lies in the bottom two parts of the gear box as they have been milled out in the original molding so has basically taken the strength away from the sides. In fact the same for the top two sections but I have not broken as many of those so are good enough as they are. Also the rear gearbox is perfect as it is but I will before the Petit event have new gearbox bits for the bottom (still working on them) and top as well as the rear. These have the milled out areas filled in aiding in strength, as well as the front bottom gearbox end bits being reinforced as if the plate flexes the square screw hole sections snap off.

The kick up plate I may be able to locate one for you but its not going to be cheap. I understand that there is a new one unopened somewhere in Japan and I an currently trying to persuade the chap in question to part with it so will update you when I get him to say yes.

The other alternative is to make a plate, as long as you have the original and is bent just hammer it flat (except for the kick up part) and get an alloy specialist to make one for you. I would seriously think about using steel instead of alloy if you can.

Well I answered your question about the ZXS but as soon as I did you edited it. Still info is there for you. Hope this helps you out.

The slipper parts are both metal but I think one is alloy (the normal one) and the other is a much lighter alloy (whatever the metal was called - Yokomo used it on the YZ10 for the motor mount)

Belsten 07-10-2009 07:57 AM

The Yokomo motor mount was made out of magnesium I believe

Welshy40 07-10-2009 08:11 AM

Cheers mate, thats what i was after.

it arrived.....very happy....thank you very much Isobarik....

Welshy40 07-10-2009 09:29 PM

Yes it has arrived. Thanks very much!!! Much appreciated :-)

white la1 is a work in progress, dont forget my cars a prototype so has a few items that were pre production like the diff parts. Once im truely happy with the la11 molds we will make the diffs. On my diffs there are more balls than on the standard one and makes it super smooth and much more free. We will update very soon, possibly next week.

isobarik 08-10-2009 01:15 AM

I also have white diffs and delrin outdrives just woundered on the la number since there are kyosho delrin outdrives spw 20-1 ( i think ) but it only containes the outdrives.

mvh isobarik

Welshy40 08-10-2009 04:12 PM

Team atlas made white diffs in very small quantities and is very similar to the one we will make so possibly one of them however i think what you may have is wasp out drives and diff pulley. Not certain on the part numbers but post a picture of these so i cant give a definate answer.

isobarik 08-10-2009 04:47 PM

Mine are TOP diffs from integy with delrin (m60) out drives.

http://proxy1.pixbox.se/arkivet/synl...0/26857937.jpg

They look like these.

I just thought that kyosho made white diffpulleys also since it is possible to order white outdrives from kyosho.

Welshy40 08-10-2009 08:26 PM

I have seen the touring car that they come from but are I think different size. The GP10 are the only ones I know that fit,but if you have any ideas I will give them a shot, and yes the white delrin bits for the UJs are for touring cars, and would'nt be good for a buggy, heck I break the metal ones so wont be up for the abuse.

isobarik 09-10-2009 07:46 AM

These are what mine look likes.

http://proxy1.pixbox.se/arkivet/synl...0/29586648.jpg

I have metal outdrives also since i just bought these for the cool white pullys :D.

These 4 diffs actually costed more then the 4 LAW12 ( actually like 5 )when they where new but i got them cheap so i took em all.

I just wait for my body to get painted so i can have a test drive before the snow gets here.

In need of LAW 12

This is my first post here! And I'm probably asking a lot as well. But I'm in desperate need of the LAW-12 slipper clutch! Can anyone help me?

isobarik 10-10-2009 10:58 AM

well no final yet but IF then i will have three bitches....

What do you think about the worlds in finland ??? i think i will buy me an zxs an start training it just like 30 mil from me (186 miles )
mvh Isobarik

Welshy40 10-10-2009 11:06 AM

Mate, you really do crack me up. Stop making me laugh. I think Finland is a stunning place and one of the best place to hold the worlds. If i had the money (which i may have by then) and there were some free places available then i would seriously be tempted to do it with my zxs. I will be updating here and RCZ website with what i have done. Its now Lipo race ready except for the brass trays which are going to be made shortly.

The standard zxs chasdis and layout works well on clay so should be fast straight away but youll need spares which i may add are now being made by my friend and professional molder. The kick up plate is the item that is weak and getting a specialist machinist is the way to go to get made. Do you have a bent one ?

isobarik 10-10-2009 11:33 AM

Nope sorry i dont have a bent one .
I have been fishing for one and tjhink ill have one soon and i can say that they are hard to find .

Nearly has hard to get as my zxs body from a friend of mine that would have painted it ages ago ...

BTw welsh do you have an zxs manual ??? i have the evo but would like the standard also preferably the parts list.

mvh Isobarik

Well the carbon fibre parts have been copied by fibrelyte but the chassis is the three part one but they couldnt do the kick up plate. Ive also got kamtec to copy the shells as your aware and yes i will email you manuals as i have both.

The plate is weak tho and bends far to easily so a steel one will need to be made.

Also kamtec copied the gearcover as well for me

isobarik 10-10-2009 02:16 PM

Yeah i have an zxs body from kamtec but a friend of mine that should have painted it weeks ago havent done that yet. and i really want it especially since i got my hands on the LA 35 spurgear cover.

Talked to him a couple minutes ago and he had the stuff to do it on monday.

Yeah i was thinking of getting parts from fiberlyte for the car but i will still miss that LAW 20-1

Hm spurgear cover hm its not on the list but he has it for the zxs ??.

When i sended him the zxr body i also sended him the LA 35 spurgear cover for the zx/r.

mvh Isobarik

aip47-2008 10-10-2009 08:00 PM

Thank you James! And yes I use the same name on 10 talk and do live in Washington State here in the US. I have sent you an e-mail and hope to talk to you soon. Thanks again in advance for any help!!

yes he has made the gear cover for the zxs and i have four in total and are near enough perfect. You may have to by a couple as i cut the first one wrong but very strong items

Welshy40 11-10-2009 09:08 AM

Kick up plate. Ive located two and will confirm next week the timeline as it may take a few months to get but it may be £100 for the two plates, one of which im having as a spare so i dont have to dismantle my unused prototype.

isobarik 11-10-2009 09:29 AM

Back in 95 at the Worlds at the yatab arena did kinwald drive kyoso lazer zxs ???

mvh Isobarik

Nope, didnt think he did. I know he was associated in 93, and think he took a drive with Losi then in 95 so unsure if he drove losi, yokomo or was it Ttech with the predator (possibly that)

The ZXS was driven by a couple of Japanese drivers and a couple of US drivers as well then and did rather well if I recall. We did post the ZXS drivers in the radio control zone section somewhere where they made the A at the worlds.

Welshy40 11-10-2009 10:47 AM

Ive sent you the zxs manual. Its not as good or indepth as the evo manual but should have everything your after. Hope this helps.

isobarik 11-10-2009 01:19 PM

I have the car action from that event and derek Furantani was in the finals and there are some pics of his car and the finalists and you can see kinwalds car black blue and yellow typical kinwald styling.

Any way he is not drivin an yokomo and the car has yokomo wheels as did derek and they are the only car that has the shock absorbers in front of the shocktower so you can clearly see that it is no yokomo.

Shall scan it

mvh isobarik

Welshy40 11-10-2009 04:02 PM

Yes please mate, To my email, did you get the manual?

isobarik 11-10-2009 05:51 PM

yes i did get it but it was just an picture or did i do something wrong ??

Anyway i was wrong about kinwalds car it could not be seen he qualified 1st andcouldnt be seen in the picture.

On the other hand in 6th qualifier was Gregg Hodapp and his car could be seen in the picture it has almost the same paint scheme as kinwald blue yellow white and black and he was driving an lazer zxs

isobarik 12-10-2009 03:57 PM
