KF2 or B5M
Schumacher KF2 or Associated B5m I can get either but not sure which one if I choose KF2 have to save for it is it worth the extra money or am I better to get the B5 m.

What surface are you running on? B5M's were designed for and excel on US style indoor high traction clay tracks. KF2 was designed for high grip Astro and carpet.

Mostly astro and also indoor on carpet and cork

Or get a YZ2. Seems to be good everywhere!

YZ2 is a very nice buggy, although a bit expensive.

Sure the kit price is a little more on the YZ2, but it has everything to run in the box, and is way more durable than a Schumacher. The KF2 on the other hand has stacks of needed hop ups to get you anywhere near what the team run, and plastic parts are so brittle you need to carry bags of spares. I see the price as what you spend in a year to service the car not just the kit cost. If running on high grip, its a kf/2 and yz2 for sure. I'll say look at the team C car slso. The b5m is a us style clay track car mostly. |
Ive broken one part on my YZ2 since racing it from release, a front bulkhead in a crossover slam, that would have nailed anything, the car is so tough and fast.
My buddy runs a KF, which he is super rapid with, but has broken a ton of plastic bits over a short time. lee |
butty1978, I see in your sig that you've a DEX210 already. I'd say that a B5M wouldn't be a great deal faster than well set up DEX210 maybe. I've heard some people say that the B5m has too much rear end grip so the steering stuffers. Although I've also seen a B5m go like a rocket (which is probably the driver).
Anyway, if I was in the market for a new 2wd it would be a YZ2, they seem to just be the business. I would want to compete and do well at regional level with it at least. At club level then I think any dog can have it's day. |
Anythings better than Durango, but is true about schumi, they break easily. Yokomo is a very good car but think if i was to choose a 2wd i would have the serpent as the reviews are very good and the car looks planted.

I'm at a loss as to the slating the Schumacher is getting.
I've owned my KF for 18 months and the only thing I broke ( screws pulled out ) was a front bruckhead and that was my fault for trying to take a double double whoops as a quad and landed on the front shock tower. Any car will break if abused, every car has their pro's and con's, ask a club member if you can drive their car and see for yourself. |

Thats the old chassis problem which is now fixed.
Serpent is a great car with very few extras needed. Its is one tough buggy at a great price. There are so many doing extra things to other cars to get more of this or more of that. youll see a lot of that in teh YZ section. minimal in the srx There should be a sticky.. Go to your club and have a look and feel and a drive if you can. See whats driven mostly there and look at one of those. There is also a want factor, you don't have to have what everyone else has but it makes tips and spares easier |
I've had both cars, I loved my B5m as it was soooo easy to drive and setup at least for me... But on high grip astro I did feel a little held back with the B5m. But since Ive had the kf2, I've preferred it over the B5m, its not as easy to drive but once setup its a really nice car to have and Im able to push as much as I can with it. But if your racing on carpet and cork id go for the B5m

Cheers Chris |
Put all those parts on the price of the car.

I am running a YZ2 in bog standard kit form. Runs like a dream. I'm sure you can spend heaps on any car, but straight from box it drives beautifully.
