Some help with postage

What should I do in this situation.

I have bought a car off FB after 5 days it's not arrived when I get proof of postage it's not my signature or ant one in houses close to me ? So I'm without the car and 250 down
What makes it worse is my wife saved to buy me this

I think you should get onto Royal Mail or whichever courier service it was and explain whats happened.
Good luck.

Yes the seller said he has contacted them
Why thoughts are and if I'm wrong please say - he should refund me and sort it out himself ? Or is that asking to much

Yes you are right. It is the sellers responsibility until in is in your possession. I'd say give him a chance to sort it and if unresolved ask for refund. I presume you used paypal? Hopefully you paid as goods and not friends and family.

You need to see proof of delivery not proof of postage.

I had an item ebay last month (makita charger), chinese seller sent recorded empty packet claimed it had been delivered, had to wait a bit but ebay refunded.

Was it royal mail or another delivery company, driver may remember who/where left, they tend to do the same route every day.

Good luck, but I think if the seller refuses it will be difficult for you.

Yes I have proof of delivery but it's not my signature just a line

Get the seller to send you the post office receipt or courier paperwork.

Make sure it was sent to you. Not one of his mates.

I seen that done in past

Provide tracking number. Paypal.say it shows as being delivered.

Either way you sent the money as paypal gift. So I think you could be on a loser there.

Was it sent by courier or with Royal Mail?

I sell a lot online and it can work both ways. Basically if it's a gift payment the money has gone as it's not intended for selling/buying items. If it's a normal PayPal payment and the item has been signed for, PayPal will usually go in favour of the seller as there is proof it was delivered. If an item hasn't been signed for then PayPal will always go with the buyer.

If I was you I'd ask the seller to forward you a picture of the receipt and get onto the courier yourself as it sounds like you will be the one who looses out. It really will be down to the discretion of the delivery company, but most decent couriers can see exactly where an item was signed for by the GPS coordinates on their machine.

Just another small point have you checked around your property just incase you weren't in and they've left it somewhere? Well worth a look just incase.

Yes I've checked all around hopfuly royal mail can say who signed for it says my name but it's not my signature or deliverd to me
