Sanwa Gemini II Charging Problem

Just got a used Sanwa Gemini II transmitter but not sure if it is charging OK. When i plug it in a red light appears on the charger and remains on even if left overnight.

My questions are:

How long does it normally take to charge the battery pack.?
How do you know when it is fully charged?
Is the battery pack or sanwa supplied charger faulty?

The charger doesn't peak, count or do anything apart from pump out a continuous 500mA or so. If they've been on overnight they will be full. Because they are being charged at a rather low rate they likely won't overheat even if you leave them in for 3-4 hours when they're full.

The red light comes on when you connect charger to transmitter and always stays on. I just charge mine overnight the night before racing.

If your transmitter is showing anything over 11v you know it's fully charged.
