Lipo In B4 FT and B44

Hi Guys

Just looking for some advice as to which are the correct Trakpower Lipos to get for my B4FT and B44 please

What mods do i need to do to get them to fit properly ( not bodge jobs )

I already have got a balancer and a Pulsar 3, just a bit confused as to which capacity to go for and the mods needed ?

Thanks

I run the trakpower 3200 saddle packs in my B4FT and BJ4WE without any mods at all.

the trakpower 3200 saddles suppose to be a better fit

As said, if you want one between the two cars - 3200 saddle will fit both.

i'm running the trakpower 3200's in my b44 - they are utterly superb

they will 'fit' without any modification, but I felt the need to add a bit of rubber to the battery straps and chassis to add extra grip.

they're also way lighter than conventional sub-c cells; set up as per the kit, the back end tended to bounce around, and the car would nosedive off jumps. adding lead weight between the cells cured those problems, and also acted as a barrier to stop the cells getting near the rear propshaft.

I've seen fellas at my local club running the 4800's - they're huge - but unless your drivetrain is tight and you're running a mega motor with a mad gear ratio, 3200's are plenty.

Thanks ever so much for that, thats just what i was after mate !

Any idea for the B4 ? Can you get a Lipo stick pack ?

The 4900 , 2cell 7.4v trakpower stickpack will be the business for your B4

Rich D
the other lads have covered what you need
3200 in b44
4900 stick in b4

recomend you use a balancer, if you want the whole package to match look at the pit pro charger and vbalancer

all details are here www.trakpower.co.uk along with part numbers specs etc

mbmodels in leeds have em, not sure what shops you have out near you, tho most shops will be able to get them if they sell planes as flightpower is a sister company

Thanks Mark and again to everyone who helped out.

if im not using these packs for a 2/3 months at a time - will it do them any harm ? Can they be cycled like a NiMh ?

Chrislong 17-06-2008 09:48 PM

As said; 3200 saddle in 4wd, and 4900 stick in 2wd.

The 4900 pack is a direct fit, even the height is perfect for the car. You just have to make sure the wires from ESC reach.

keep them stored charged, they dont self dscharge and You dont need to cycle them, if you want to check, top em up each month but they wont take much charge

Storing them fully charged is not good for them either I heard. 3/4 capacity is supposed to be good for longer rest periods.
