Futaba specialist needed!

A mate have a futaba 3gr 2.4 serial number A81062611 bought second hand
He is new to the sport and as taken out his aftermarket lipo, he has then struggled to get the plug back in and get it to power up, so were suspecting
He has shorted the -/+ he didnt noticed and pop spark or smell....
Can anyone point us in the right direction to get it fixed/looked at or is it a bin
It job?

Thats all i know about it i said id ask,
Thanks for looking

It certainly shouldn't go in the bin...

UK-spec 3GRs don't come with the parts to fit a LiPo, so if it had one in there is is either an imported model or the previous owner did a home modification to get the LiPo in. If it was a home modification, that may explain why it came apart but doesn't go back together again.

Pics might help diagnose the problem, otherwise the UK importers are Ripmax and they have a decent repair department.

Just a thought if the 2.4 module is in tact could he just buy a used 40mhz 3gr
I saw one b.i.n on evil bay for £40 last week ???

I'd be looking for a 3VCs the module would fit.

I've seems few for about £70

The 3GR isn't a module radio. You might be able to exchange the 2.4GHz board for the 40MHz board, but I doubt you could put its guts inside a 3VC without some serious modification.

Ahh sorry thought they had a 2.4 Mod
