X11 parts

Hi there!

I have just bought a X11, despite the the up coming B44.2, K1 and XB4 +++... I'm an idiot? Maybe, but I just love this uk jewel:thumbsup: Super cool car I hope will give me some joy when I get it set up. It's not new and is actually the old car of Andy Myers on this forum. See this thread: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21218

Have the feeling the pred already is history and soon will be long gone - parts and the whole caboodle. Insideline racing were having spares but after their sales what is the parts source? Only Team Xtreme?

Actually I just need the motor disk (XC012), but thought I would just pile up some spares as well. Any of you guys with some parts to part with? Or info of other sources than Team Xtreme?

Cheers
David

Hello! Congratulations on your purchase! the X11 is a fantastic car and I have to say I loved running mine last season and I'll be running it again this year if I get chance to do 4wd meetings. As Yanina mentioned above, team Xtreme hold all the parts and will help you out no problem. If you need any help at all feel free to pm me or check out my website www.teamnoidea.com which has loads of X11 related stuff on there.

Thanks for the pep talk Martin! I'm just in the equipment mode getting this thing up and running. I am actually a vintage rc guy, so some appropriate acquisitions needs to be done...

Thank you! Anyone having a comment on my planned electrics:

Servo: Savox 1251, to save some space.
ESC: XeRUN V3
Motor: LRP X20 6.5 - or is this a bit too much to handle for this car? Some kind of 7.5 - or?

your motor is to much aggressive...7.5 or 8.5 is better....

The motor depends entirely on three things;

1) the size of the track
2) the surface you are running on
3) your skill level

The predator is VERY responsive to throttle input so if you are on a slippy track with a powerful motor and little skill, then you won't be on the track for long.

If you have the 6.5 already then turn the top end down via the esc. If you don't already have the motor, buy a 7.5. Tekin Redlines are very good.

Personally, I ran a 5.5 in my pred. It was way too fast for me to run competitively with, but it was bloody good fun on the straights.

Thank you both for the input on motors! Nice to know the X11 can handle 5.5:). The X20 also have the timing issue making it faster than a regular 6.5. I think I will settle for a 7.5.

Just to let you know my last race car was a Yokomo 870C... I have been driving some modern stuff in the later years but only for fun. I'm actually fiddeling aruond with vintage rc, and don't have the thorough hands on knowledge with all the modern stuff. If you want to have a look at what I've been doing lately see this thread: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=27601

I tried a 5.5 in my Pred, only once it was so fast it did the length of the straight followed by the fence at the end of the straight!

Fastest 10th car I have seen! lol

A 10.5-7.5 will be plenty, the Pred drive train is so light (as too is the car) a big motor makes it too much for most of us!

When Kev Lee ran the Pred he used a 6.5 I believe but he is a F1 grade driver.

Ok, sounds way out of my capabilities. Think I'll move on to some higher turns... Thank you for getting me on the track:blush:
