Brushless Motor Timing
I've read on here somewhere that if you use an ESC and brushless motor made by different brands, you might need to change the timing of the motor.. I have a Novak GTB and Orion 7.5 - what am I looking out for - overheating? Under powered?

In pure theory, 2 different motor brands could have different timing meaning for the esc.
But in practice, I've not seen any problem. So I am assuming that most big brand sensored motor have kept the same "standard". I think it would create massive returns/complains for esc/motor manufacturers if users were reporting problem due to unmatched esc/motor brand, so they prefer to keep to a standard. This is my belief anyway if timing has too much advance = more power but more heat(=less effcient) |
