It's not just you, it's me too!

I've seen adverts for several cars and other bits and pieces that I'm keen on getting at the right price, but when the adverts just say offers I don't bother to contact the sellers normally as I don't have a clue what they want. It might be ok for people in the know, but I'm only just getting back into Rc and don't really know what anything's worth. :(

Why should I have to ask what people want for things, If the items are for sale then they should say how much for! Even offers in the region of would be a start.

Sorry peeps!

I must say, I am guilty of this, sometimes I dont know how much something i have for sale is worth. So offers is a decent way of gauging how much its worth.
I completely understand what is being said, and it does my head in too, especially if you have "x" amount of money in your account burning a hole in your pocket, but you dont want to "offend" the person with an offer.

Second hand RC stuff is worth as much as someone will pay for it so asking for offers is perfectly acceptable. It gives the buyer a chance to be cheeky and maybe get a bargain and it gives the seller the best chance of getting a good price. In any event, the worse that can happen is no sale.

I agree i have done it myself a few times some people arnt sure of what to ask and when you get a offer you know yourself if your happy to take it or not, its like Dom said worse case senario is a no sale, bumping threads after a few hours is a bigger problem IMHO.

Its ok so long as sellers dont start getting ratty when the low offers come in !

I did this on another forum recently, ended up with about 10 emails exchanged and still no sale.
The bottom line was that he wanted far more than the item was worth. He was obviously far too ashamed to put a price tag on his listing !

Im pleased its not just me Neil ! 63 bumps over a 5 day period is just pathetic - spam !

Agreed. Locking for sale threads after the first post would stop it.
