servo strangeness?????
i run 1/8 rallycross and had a strange thing happen with the throttle servo today, when the car and tx were switched on the servo was happy, it sat still and worked well when the trigger was moved, however when the engine was started the servo was all over the place, i replaced it with a new servo (ace ds1015) and it worked just fine...:wtf:
your answers will be appreciated. |
loose connection?
|
it worked fine last week and i had a look at all the wires and they seem ok, i havn't looked inside it yet though, so you could be correct.
secretly, i was hopeing for a more surreal and all together strange answer? |
lol wasn't Halloween was it, open the case and check for gremlins:)
|
If it was an Ace servo, the top case wears where the middle pin (three sets of gears from the top - I mean the middle set), which causes the servo to have an issue finding the centre - though only when it is not under much load - like the throttle/brake application.
Replace the top case (about £8) with a new one, and the problem should disappear - this is very common with Ace servos. |
i know all about that problem, it has the top case with the brass insert and it's fine, it's not a centering problem, it was traveling from wide open throttle to full brake's .

just opened it, the white signal wire is broken...... how boring.
|
that;ll be the gremlins
