What amp to charge lipo's

HI,

What amp do you regularly charge your lipo's at as my charger has 0.1 to 5 amp settings. Just looking for some general info.

Thanks Adam

1 c

so c = the capacity 9 in simple terms)

3200mah =3.2 amps
4200mah 4.2 amps
5000mah = 5 amps

you get no benifits from charging at more than 1c other than reducing battery life

depends on the lipo, usually 1c which mean if its a 5300 lipo charge at 5amp if its a 3200 charge at 3 amp and so on.

I know you know already but only use a lipo charger, nimh or nicad charging is different

Keep an eye out though as some of the newer packs like the Hyperions can be charged at up to 5C! But this may then be outside of your charger's capability.

1C is considered the norm and safe.

well they do charge faster... but yeah you're right about reducing their life.

What if you want to charge a 6000 Lipo and your charger can only charge up to 5 amps? I guess slower is no problem, right?
