troubling understanding lipo

im sure this has been asked million times but did a search and didnt help me too much.

im looking into buying a lipo charger, power supply and some lipo batteries.

been looking around and found few people recommending this, the problem im having is balancing.
this charger says it balances them too and have seen some batteries with the balancing leads, but these ones here dont seem to so, would that mean i need an adapter to plug in or use trakpowers own balancer.

also if there any better charger/batteries better out there.
would prefer it if the batteries were brca legal.
this has been doing my nut in for a good few hours lol
thanks for any help :D,
Aran

batteries like the one you show and many others have a small 2mm socket for balancing, these balancing leads are usually supplied with the battery, the other end will have a connector, these are refered to as jst/xh etc there are several types, the charger will have a socket to accept the battery lead directly or via a balance board which basically converts the battery plug to suit the charger, as an example i use a elysium charger from the same manufacturer and batteries from trakpower and vampire, both batteries came with leads which fit directly to the charger without going through a board.

if your unlucky you could end up with a charger and balancing board which do not fit your batteries but all is not lost as you can buy seperate boards quite cheaply which will convert most types to most types.

ah okay i see now. looks like core rc do a adapter for the 2mm connector that goes into a JST-XH board and the charger actually comes with a board so should be okay i think :D.

just need to wait till payday and ill order them.

thanks mate
