Race chat forum problems

Sorry to talk about the other forum but i found i cant post any more or reply to any threads.

Seems unless you are a paid member you can only look and post on a few non popular threads.

How does that help our hobby??

jim76 30-04-2010 09:37 PM

it doesn't. that's why nobody uses it anymore.

roll on the oople world domination!

DaSloth 01-05-2010 10:04 AM

Same for me, cant post in any of the "general" sections but i can post in the club sections and competition sections (like rug racers)

I've been a member on the other forum for about 8 years and have just discovered the same thing. Can't reply to any posts, or start a new topic.

Did I miss a vital announcement from the moderator revoking the ability to make a forum actually work like a forum?

Oh well, another nail in the coffin for my TC racing, sigh...

Still amazed how much more fun off road is, fellow racers, forums and actual racing all included. (Even set up sometimes )

Racechat is just laughable  it sucks

russmini 08-05-2010 07:45 AM

Perhaps you've all been Banned... I'm ok, but then i haven't caused any problems being silly between forums...

:o

i can not see any restrictions on your account

as for the rest russmini sums it up, forums are different with different rules and styles, why carnt folk realize that?

Mark, I think what people are pissed off about, is that over the years, Racechat has gone from being a free and thriving forum to one that has been soooo moderated and costly, people just don't understand why... it isn't like thay gained anything from it.

mark christopher 08-05-2010 09:10 AM

racechat has allways had paid up members....... and its moderated to the rules which have been pretty standard from day one

as i said some just dont like rules but if i said i dont agree with the speed limits and drove past a school as 60mph which was a 30 limit every one on here would moan about me and say i should be banned!!

Mark, that is the BIGGEST load of bollocks so far......

When Racechat started, membership was free, you had a PM box and a sig line, but you could 'donate' to the site.
Then they reduced you down to 10 pm's and membership was a nominal fee, this gave you 100 pm's
Then you had to be a member to have a sig line
Then you couldn't advertise in a sig line

The rules just kept coming in, so for those who have been there for a long time have seen it go from a thriving FREE forum to a stifled, over moderated PPV forum.

Yes, you agree to join, and you agree to follow the rules, but for those who been there years, just see it as petty and futile in the most.

mark christopher 08-05-2010 11:08 AM

ok your right im wrong, guess thats why your where you are!!
will keep out of threads like this far far easier.

SlowOne 08-05-2010 11:33 AM

why can't you live and let live? Why are you wasting your time energy and brainpower on something you cannot change? It speaks to a level of immaturity that this subject keep coming up on this forum - grow up, please!! :)

If you, as a customer, don't like something, you usually vote with your feet and go elsewhere. Do any of you continue to write to them months later complaining? Do you still post of forums about the (say) washing machine or mobile 'phone that didn't work, or you didn't like, ages after you replaced it? This behaviour about RacChat seems a bit odd in that context. Just my 2p...

DCM 08-05-2010 02:00 PM

It doesn't bother me that Racechat is like it is, it is a shame, but then we got Oople, what does annoy me is when the truth gets distorted, and long time members get banned from a place for trying to help.

maybe had you not pissed on so many people's legs, like you do here, you wouldn't have had such issues or complaints ;)

because they approach everything with a "I want it my way" attitude, and then want to piss and moan about it later
