testing brushless equipment.

If I wanted to make sure my old brushed motors were working I'd connect them to my charger and use the motor run-in.
Without risking my esc, how do I check brushless motors?
Also, how do I check my older brushless esc's without risking a good motor?

What i do is use a length of 3 strand wire off say a kettle, solder or "weld" in your case Col:woot: the wires in any order it doesnt matter to the three terminals on the brushless motor. Then simply plug in to your 240v house mains and see what happens.
As for the the brushed speedo, just throw it in the bin and buy another brushless:thumbsup:

If Col had asked how to start a fire without any matches, or wanted a free ride in an ambulance this would be a good answer.

If you have a multimeter you can measure the resistance of the winds. If they are all the same then the windings are probably ok. (so measure the resistane of A-B, B-C and C-A)
If they are different resistances then one winding may be shorted or disconnected.

I dont think there is any easy way to test the sensor. If your paranoid you could take a careful look at the circuit board and make sure nothing is burnt or damaged.

Im not really sure how to test a speedo without a motor, but generally you cant easily damage a motor with a faulty speed control.
