I was alarmed when i say 12.5.......

Tonight i was poping down to oswestry to try my cr indoors and i was charging a pack of IB 4200's and i went in the garage to load my stuff into the car and i looked at the charger and it said it was charging at 12.5 amps!!!!! :o:o:o A pack of IB 4200's ! So i ended the charge then set it to charge again and it was fine went back ot the normal 4.2 amps. Then i arrived at the lcub turned my charger on to charge another pack and now it wont charge i press start and it goes into the charging screen like alwasy but normally the ampage goes up to what ever ampage its charing at but now it just stays at 0 amps and doesn charge. Its an orion advantage never missed a beat before ace charger but for some reason it seems to have packed up any idea's anyone????????????????

And to add insult i found the reason for my crap sounding siff at the weekend mt diff screw must have been weak or something as it snapped tonight.

Not like the old days with Schumacher chargers, had to carry spares fuses as they blew quite often! Always worked with new ones though.

Im sure if I looked about I could find a stack of fuses in an old box for that exact reason :D

aaahh the good old metallic red chargers!

Still got my slightly newer charger that was made by them.

Actually VERY reliable, and only ever did one fuse :D

Pity it wouldn't work with NIMH...

Just rang mirage and they said they wont repair it but they told me to contact Derak Bailey who may be able to repair it.

Can it actually charge at 12.5amps as a feature? If not id say it was a charger fault and if under warrenty they should repair it.

i have the same charger and it can only charge and discharge from 1 to 10 amps !!!
so you may have a case ..

mark christopher 14-11-2007 11:16 AM

suposing it may be out of warranty:rolleyes: then he has no case, mirage dont just fob customers off!

ashleyb4 14-11-2007 11:31 AM

No its out of warenty its almost 2 years old now its not meant to charge at 12.5 amps im not sure what to do.

On reflection once you saw it charging out of it's range you shouldn't of used it again. It's probably caused it more damage when before it might have been a simple fix.

ashleyb4 14-11-2007 01:16 PM

It worked fine when i tried it again so god knows ill give this man a ring and see what he says.
