STEERING

i've been looking at setup sheet as i find my rat has a really wide turning angel and i want to try and to be able to turn sharper when racing: problem is i dont understand what changes will affect steering! any other racers tip would be much appreciated! thanks as always for any help

A Rudebits under servo weight will help. :)

would just adding weight to the front help the same? are there any changes to camber/springs or any thing like that, that i could do to help??

First thing to do is make sure your end points are set so that you are getting full lock in both directions.

yer i seem to have full lock just on track seem to run real wide

Running a longer front camber link will add to the amount of steering you have as will moving the accerman links further forward

right this is a stupid question but what are "front camber link" , "accerman links" sorry:confused:

Is the turning circle wide, or is the car 'pushing'/understearing? You could try grippier front tyres, more toe out, extra weight up front, softer front springs, or just backing off the throttle and then picking it up gently off the apex.

thanks for the thoughts mrmagoo i think its a combitanion of a really wide turing circle and understeer im going to try the springs and look at the toe-in changes:thumbsup:

Also double check your servo saver and make sure its tight enough, use a small amount of thread lock to secure it in place, I have had 2 meetings chasing steering to find the saver had come loose, tightend it up and had more steering than I could cope with, worth checking.

Thanks for help as always tightens severo horn was bit loose at added negative camber checked other points all is hood gunna gets some springs next

The turnbuckles on the front are the camber links make them longer by moving the stud in on the bulkhead or out on the hub carrier  the acamann is changed by the studs on the steering plate
