Stream music from home

Ive been on my own this week and got bored listening to the radio so decided to look into streaming my music from home to my work pc, this program works pretty well: www.orb.com.
You set it up at home and then log into the website where ever you are and you can search music/videos/pictures/files and stream it all to your pc

In hindsight i would normally just put the music on a cd but i think just turning on your pc in the morning and then logging in you can listen to anything you want.

that sounds pretty cool. guarantee it is blocked by work though! :(

I've been a Pandora (internet radio) fan for a while, type in a list of likes and the site makes a station that only plays music near that selection, discovered a few unknowns (for me). (no jabberjabber-just music)

But from 15th Jan its banned, US only due to copyright etc:(:(:(:(:(:(

I needed to "borrow" a US zip to log in to start.

Yeah thats a good site, another is: http://my.1club.fm/

i think all free internet radio stations along the pandora line are going to shut down as well. The record companies have priced them off the net as a viable advertising funded service.

Ever heard of or tried www.last.fm? Works a bit like Pandora. Type in whatever artist you like and you get related music. Should work from outside of Germany too I guess.

Cheers

Seb

Thanks Sebastian, I have been looking at it, but I find the adverts and artist/band "they" think is "like" is not quite to my liking. But i could be "stuck" with it !!

I've had Spotify for nearly 3 years now (didn't even realise it was that long until I figured In had it since July 2007) and I still find it amazing.

Okay sure, the quality doesn't quite match my MP3's so my collection will never be replaced, but amazing for listening when I am away from my desktop machine, or on one of my laptops or linux machines.

What is it like to be living in 2010? ;)

I'm gonna take a look at Spotify now. A guy at work has got it on his laptop, and streams music throughout the day.

LOL oops my bad. Maybe there is a reason for not posting past 2am... I can barely type at the best of times!

Now it's only 1am I can correct my typo, and say yes indeed 2 years of Spotify :) The earliest I can just remember using it at the 2007 1/8th Euros in Auxerre when I managed to forget all my music (D'OH!). Very luckily someone was good friends with the developer and had an early beta, so I managed to have music while writing the race report, not looked back

p.s. 2010 is nice, we have flying cars already!
