It depends on how powerful your iron is,Irons in factories are running all day, and they are hot,they work high temperature to make solder joints fast,if not they just heat up the circuit boards etc they are working on,thus you tend to find you need some wattage to unsolder their work,on esc's I use 80w Iron may sound drastic but it quickly unsolders their work and I can make solder joints very quickly without heating up the esc :thumbs:

Comes from the old days of making battery packs up before lipos.
