Tested the car today and things seemed pretty good with the 3-gear tranny. I know on my CR2 the 4-gear worked wonders on the car. I do run on a outdoor medium-loose track so the 4-gear might be an option on the looser days.

Thought about a centralized brace... maybe something ala X-6 squared with something mounting to the top of the battery strap - but that means I need a more secure battery strap though.

Something that would take more time would be to just mill out something to go around the motor like I did sometime ago on my first mid-motor project LOSI...
