Thanks to all that turned up tonight, hope you all enjoyed a great nights racing.

One negative thing we would like to mention is the language that was sometimes used on the rostrum this evening which was brought to our attention.

I know we can all get frustrated at times during a race, either with ourselves or a fellow racer but we have some young, up & coming racers that attend our race nights so we want to promote a family friendly atmosphere with the bad language kept to a minimum.

Many thanks and hope to see you all next week for some more close racing!

Thumbs up Good evenings racing

Thank you team - really enjoyed the nights racing. Not the result I wanted but that is what it is all about.

Re Gonky's comment on club etiquette and language - totally agree with what has been said. However this "language" was not restricted to the rostrum but also the pit area as well. For parents who bring their younger children to race, support the club and are our hobbies future this is not acceptable. I would suggest the club take a tougher stance with these individuals by ensuring prior to the evenings racing starting we have a drivers briefing to include our clubs attitude regarding language - reinforcing the "family atmosphere" and the conduct expected from competitors both trackside and pitside at our club. Should the individual fail to abide with this request then they should be asked to leave the event and forfeit their entrance fee. If on subsequent meetings they still persist with their lack of respect for the juniors and the clubs wishes for a family racing atmosphere then they should be declined the opportunity to book in or race at the club for a period of four weeks or whatever is thought to be appropriate.

Absolutely right Lance. I am not above swearing myself, but there is a time and a place. As a parent I feel the club needs to decide if it wants to encourage younger drivers or not. I understand that inexperienced drivers aren't always the easiest to pass when lapping (regardless of age), but there really is no excuse for swearing at an eight year old just because you haven't been able to find a way past them cleanly.

Even as an adult I was offended at the constant use of the F-word throughout my final. Plus as Lance has mentioned, bad language was also a constant theme in the pits throughout the night. I get that people want to relax and enjoy themselves on a Friday night after a long week at work, but if they could do that without the constant need to swear it would make life a lot more pleasant for others.
