As far as i know Alan, we have 1 more season at Whitcliffe before the planned closure.

Nothing is booked with them yet, however someone could do with picking this up before the halls book up..

Is there an intention to run additive at Whitcliffe like people do at Cullingworth?

Joking aside mate , last year numbers were quite low do most people want to race on medium to high grip ? If so we can sort that out with all the carpet we have

No worries,I just know we start earlier in summer and those times don't seem to be a problem. Earlier finishes work better for me (as you prob spot I often have to dash off at end or leave early as my pass runs out)
We can speak next week

I suspect numbers were low due to unrest in the club and a late calendar, I only asked about additive as to level the playing field.

Let's see what is available when we speak to Whitcliffe and reserve the longest slot we can. We could then get a consensus from club and confirm times.

I have no idea about additives so can't comment, but I'd be against anything that increased costs for racing (don't know if additive lowers cost by making tyres last longer, or raises costs)

Are you going to try cheat there as well Ralph? I've only known one person (nameless but who's given up now), and yourself try adative to try and keep up with the pace. i recall you making the track super slippy trying fairy liquid on your tyres or was it WD40?

I did try someone's tyres that had been trested with WD40 and it turned the car into an undrivable mess.

This is Batley forum, not Cullingworth

I thought i had sorted the new indoor venue, which will be ready for our indoor season. This will be open to us all day Sunday to run when we want, no wet track to drag out of the container and build, it will be warm and have some grip.

Whitcliffe just isn't suitable any more.

Chris...would be great if you can get some indoor dates booked...book as many as are available...they only need two weeks notice for any cancellations I believe, so any unwanted, clashing dates, could easily be cancelled..
What about running an Indoor series, like Chadderton, as the club is no longer involved in that series...?...say 4 or 5 all day events..?

As for additives..! On off-road cars..!..😝😂....go TC racing..!

How does using additive 'level the playing field'? Does it make us crap drivers as good as the driving Gods? what if they used additives? The playing field wouldn't be level again!

This really isn't the place to be discussing this at all.
No one should be using additives on tyres and it doesn't level the playing field at all.

The fact is no additive will help give a grip advantage at whitcliffe. The grip is low because temperature is low, floor is too dusty, track is frequently wet or dusty.

As for booking: We usually have to wait until the badminton finishes before we can have the Whitcliffe hall (they have it every week, so take priority). This will likely mean a 12 or 13:00 start.

We will only book usually for 5 hours due to the high cost of the hall.

The club has had a 30+ years relationship with Kirklees Council & Whitcliffe is still the official Batley indoor venue.

This COULD change should a better venue be confirmed as ready, suitable and affordable. If all those boxes are ticked it will be up to all paid up club members to have their say if they are happy to relocate there or not. Whatever happens Whitcliffe will close during 2016 so for 2016/17 the club will have no choice but to relocate. If any club member wants to investigate options for a move to present to the membership, I personally would welcome that and hope other members would appreciate it too.
