Default low profile tires

Why is it the only low profile tire that schumacher produces is the cut staggered ribs? The lesson learnt from the original cut staggered rib is that lower is better with respect to the profile of the tire? Therefore why not extend the range to mini spikes and pins? Also what about the rear? Would low profile not work better for the rear also? Is there an advantage to higher profile tires? Or is the reason why the option to run a lower profile tire lies in the argument that monopolies aren't a good thing?
