Default Help with the new track needed!!!

Well boys and girls the time has come when we need your kind help in the construction of the new outside track.

We have been up to the site with tractors and leveled the track area off, but by doing this we have created alot of grass/light soil that now needs moving. My best estimate is that we will need garden rakes (sprung fan-shaped ones and wheelbarrows) to move the spoil away from the track area so we can get our 12 ton roll onto it.

The plan is we are going to undertake this task on monday 26th april in the evening, starting at 5:00 pm and as you will understand the more of you that can come along, the quicker the job will be done.

Directions:

You need, if you are coming from Brenley roundabout, to continue through the village and up the old Boughton Hill, at the top take the first left into Courtney Road ( you should notice the huge pilon on your left as you go down Courtney Road .) On the left as you go down you will see a row of bungalows, where these end is roughly where you need to be. At the moment, there is no car access to the track area, so you will need to park infront of the bungalows, as near to the end as possible, you will see where when you arrive. I think the best thing to do is phone me on my mobile ,07791 334 705, when you get there, and i will direct you to where you need to be, which is the matter of a 1 minute walk.

So come on this your chance to help out as things are coming along nicely and we are heading towards a very nice track for us at FORCC to use for years to come.

Please let me know if any of you can make monday evening and what tools you can bring with you.

KInd regards, Alan

I went up and had a look again today and the machine has done a great job! The grass is much much flatter now. All it needs now is manpower and before you know it we will have somewhere to race. I hope to .see some of you there as I for one cant wait to rag a car round there.

I'll be there asap after work, so about 5.30, until it gets too dark to see. Haven't got any garden tools (as I have no garden) but if anyone has spare I'll use those.

We need as many as possible to get this underway - I know most of the FORCC hardcore read Oople so please guys, anyone who can spare a few hours on Monday let's get this sorted!!

Hi guys because of a eye operation a few days ago I am limited to how much help I can give you, I am not supposed to do any lifting e.t.c. (very handy) but if you can use me for any menial tasks then let me know, I have got one of those springy rake things and a spade so let me know and I will pop over for 5 ish with (Recklass) Sam who will be as much use as a chocolate fire guard,

Regards Dave

Ps I don't seem to be able to put any smilies on, anyone got any ideas.

A big thanks to all those that came and helped last night.

What a fantastic venue this is going to be. Plenty of room for pitting and a huge area for the track. I know it looks pretty flat at the moment but the good thing is that it gives us carte blanche to sculpture the track to however we want it.

There's no houses or anything overlooking it as well, so no worries about upsetting the neighbours with generators and pop-up gazebos

And as well as a large area for the track, there's a huge area for pitting (probably around the outside of the track), and also plenty of space for camping for those 2 day events........you know the ones........Nationals (well you never know what we may have planned for the future eh?)

Thanks again to those that came - but we'll need more of you when the heavier work starts shortly

Yes and a very big thank you from me as well, i was in no doubt that my boys and girls would turn out in numbers cause thats the kind of club we run.

Dave you uttered that word nationals, god that would be great mate, can you imagine our little old club holding such an event, well yes i could, its something i have wanted all my racing life and you are wright we have now got a place in the making that could well hold such an event. Something for us to think about in the not to distant future me thinks.

Regards Alan.

Open trophy days.......summer club evenings perhaps.......Regionals.........Nationals......... the potential is limitless really.

How good would it be to have 2 clubs in the SE region capable of hosting a National eh? Spoilt for choice

Why stop at Nationals, think Euro's as well!!!
It was held on grass in France in 2005 or so.
