Default sanwa z signal problems

Hi,

I have a 4 month old sanwa z transmitter. Indoor racing is fine but I am having signal problems outdoors from 25 foot anything after 35 foot it doesn't work at all. Has anyone had this before and is there a fix it other than sending the transmitter back as it is with several new receivers two 472 and a 471 so isn't receiver or car.

Yeah I have seen range issues. I think it's the receiver rather than the radio, but it's hard to be sure. I only had any issue on the biggest of outdoor tracks, and it was fixed by properly extending the receiver aerial. What other electronics are in your car?

Hi Scotty

Have you ever had to change the transmitter aerial?
I had a load of range issues after trying to put on a 3rd party aerial - it seems the Sanwa is very sensitive to the make and standard of the aerial.

I work in IT and have tried dozens - old, new - many gave me trouble - only a couple worked well.

Eventually, I had to buy a genuine aerial to get it back to best.

I heard about arial problems, check it's connected properly, if it's a new transmitter it should have a metal collar around the antenna base.

the aerial on the receiver can course problems. It must have 20 to 30mm of the white inner aerial showing. If it don't it can give range problems.

I've had 3 x 451 receivers fail with a range issue.

Not the aerial but an internal fault

Touch wood the transmitter has been fine.
