Specifically on the Yoko, perhaps (surely so) - but anyone that's had a car that uses this sort of chassis design (losi, kyosho, ae, etc) has probably had it happen from time to time. It's also part of the reason for this design, that the user only has to replace the t-plate instead of the entire chassis.
As far as why it happens - it's usually as a result of user error, bad jump landing or major crash.

Unfortunately the MR has no separate T-plate. Went through several T-plates on an Ansmann Macnum in a very short time, but never experienced any problems with the old or new Yokomo B-Max2 chassis, no matter how bad my landings were.

Gave my Bmax2 a serious strength test on sunday when my ambition exceeded my talent and I launched it off the top of a 10ft tall "wall of death".....at least a 12ft drop flat onto astro covered concrete floor....should have broken in half but no damage....seriously strong car

We have 3 Bmax2's at our track, 1 of them broke in the exact same spot as yours.

yes broke mine in exact same spot on sunday. Think car was weakened by racing indoors landing flat on wooden floor, big table top at eden park finished it off.

Watch out for loose screws in the rear brace. Without the brace the car flexes a lot in the back, so if something came loose it would be disastrous for the chassis.
