Default Compatibility

Hi folks,

Getting back into things after many years away. I picked up a Centro C4.1.

How many Associated B4.1 parts are interchangeable with B5 parts? Diff parts? Would I be able to fit a gear diff for example?
Front suspension arms and bulkhead?

Any advice / guidance you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Hi,

There are very few if any parts carried over from the B4 series to the B5 series.

The B4 was imperial, while the B5 was metric.

MiCk B. :-)

You can make the front arms fit, but it's not as simple as just swapping them over...

Most of the parts are still available for the C4.1.....it is not possible to convert it to a B5m....the best you could do would be to upgrade it to the C4.2 but the expense is hardly worth it. Stick with the standard C4.1 for the time being.
There have been a number of good B5m,s being sold cheaply as people are upgrading to the B6..

Thanks for the input folks. My C4.2 was a fantastic buy. Few niggles now in only a short space of time - diff needs attention so a gear diff would be handy.

I found a Cobra B42 conversion but it seems more compatible with the B5M front end but was wondering if I could get the B5 chassis parts and used some B4 parts and have two 2WD cars to play with.

I'mm keep plugging away as I like a project

My B42S Cobra will take the B4 front end, so all imperial. B44 back end too. :-)
