Loose 100 gramms from your dex210/ 410
Hi all
just fitted a hardcase roar approved shorty pack to the cars and weighed them they are 100 gramms lighter giving you much more flexability with battery weight position Also the extra room it creates means weights can be added if you require precisely |

Maybe this is a dumb question or I dont understand fully, but whats the point of dropping 100g of weight from your battery only to add it back on with weights?

Don't think that's a dumb question at all. I run a shorty battery so I can adjust and prioritize where I want the weight to be in my car. Instead of being forced to have an extra 100 grams at the center of the car. I now can move 58 grams to the very front of the car with Cream's brass bulkhead for more steering, without having to resort to softer springs and it also helps keep the nose down in flight. I added 28 grams to the right side pod where my reciever sits to offset my tekin rs 56 grams of weight on the opposite
All in all a shorty pack is by far one of the best "upgrades" for this car in my opinion.

Yeah, why is it most Durango 410s are run with so much added weight? Is it because it lacks rear end grip?

all depends on griplevel and surface.
dex210 when I drive on high grip surface, I can drive with a shorty. when I drive on low grip surface, I need a full size stickpack

Yes, 410's do lack rear grip. Not a problem on astro, but on loose dirt this car struggles. Could be the gear diffs though.......

Only if it's not been set-up correctly and I don't run on astro very much, mainly worn out grass tracks, so not a lot of grip.

Also, IIRC, the DEX410 was designed/planned/laid out when NiMH was still the default battery for most.
LiPos are (generally) lighter. It probably wouldn't be so hard to setup if we all used NiMH. |

ok figure this out.
Still learning 2 years. I have always run my 410 with the brass weight kit and an extra 35 gms of lead at the back of the battery pack. Last week i just tried it without any weight and had my best run ever?? 6.5 tekin on grass. Normally i would grip roll without the weight but by trimming a few rows off the tyres and changing shock oil things just worked. So my conclusion is that set up is more important than a lot of us realize (me included) |

BTW, i think someone tried a 410 with the shorty pack last year, didn't reckon much to it.
Battery didn't seem to deliver the grunt a saddle pack would. You'll have to do a dig to find out the details. |

How could u be stuggling with rear end grip with a 410 it must not b set up i run on polished floor with no weight and a rear roll bar and somtimes need less grip

Ran the shorty in my dex210 for the first time yesterday
What a difference with the battery full forward brilliant steering and no grip loss Battery at the rear and the front was very light on the jumps easy to control IN the end i settled for 66% fr and 33% rear in the 410 i found it easier to drive and it rotated just grand all good so far |

I got a Team-powers 94mm lipo in my 210.
at 4400 and 60c its great. i put mine back as i dont like too much steering. £39.99 from Rc-explorer uk. |
