Default ECX Boost Advice?

Hello fellow forum user!

I bought a used ECX boost but the battery was new and unused. I put the battery on charge overnight and later on in the day I fitted it and decided to take it for a run.

What happened was the car would work and drive for about 10 yards then the car would just stop, and not move (the wheels would still turn) for about 10 seconds then go for enough 10 yards and stop, this would repeat until I gave up and took the car home.

So I am thinking, is it something to do with the battery or possibly something else?

So if anyone knows please reply,
Thanks,
TheNewGuy.
