Speed Passion Reventon Pro fan or no fan?
Just setting up my cougar SV2 after not racing for 15 years, things have changed! Everything seems a tight fit and I wanted to know how critical it is using the fan with the esc? I notice some ecs's don't have fans. I'm using a speed passion reventon pro. Thoughts please......

The reventon pro should be ok without a fan on a 2wd, with a bit of airflow and a reasonable motor... |

I'm running a 7.5t speed passion motor, esc right at the front with good air flow. I assume with the heat cut off the worst case is it will cut off?

if you can fit a fan, fit it.. and forget about it. Better safe than sorry!

i had the same combo past summer in my RB-6 and even with the fan on , after 7 min of driving the ESC turns up to safetymode, heatprotection! so i would defenitly run it always with the fan.

TBH the heat protection on the reventon pro is crap.
With it set to 95 DegC the reported temperatures on the reventon app are rarely over 70 DegC when it cuts out. (I'm measuring within 10 seconds of the protection cutting in) If I get an IR gun in the esc and motor, they are both around the 65 degC mark. So I switched it off and run for 8 minutes max. Temp hasn't been an issue since. I might switch it back on when I change motor set up. This is on a 410, which tend to run very hot anyway. |
