Default Cat EC shock position

Why has this shock setup never been used again?
The Cat EC was a great car and won loads of titles.

From what I remember the Cat EC and the Losi XX4 were very well matched back in the day. People still run the XX4, myself included, so it is a shame I haven't seen a Cat running in years. They were awsome, especially indoors.

There were rumours a few years ago about Schumacher re-releasing the Cat EC as a low cost buggy. I'm sure with brushless and LiPo it would be better than ever!

Default Cat EC

Partly because of how well they handelled and partly because it was one of the first buggies I raced (not just wizard around the garden), I am going to restore and modernise my EC to use again.
Will post pics in vintage section soon. Busy collecting parts for now.

Was there a Fireblade which used a similar shock position setup?

Yes. But the rear shocks weren't as laid down as the EC
