Default Local Clubs

Anyone know of/recommend any other clubs (allowing mardave/SS) in the area that don't run on Fridays?

Looking for an additional night of racing

Mike

aren't we all....

I can't think of what I'd call a 'local club'. I'm considering going to the chippenham race night (Tuesdays) but thats a good way away. I think hereford run Friday nights

If you want to make the trek to Cardiff COBRA will have a few people running SS this indoor season alongside some TC runners (as well as buggies); we cater for all classes.

We mainly run on a Sunday but have recently introduced a Saturday night meeting as well. Have a look here if you're interested http://www.oople.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=141

Or PM JACKOR33 (Chair) or DCM (Vice Chair) on here.

Has the club ever discussed an additional informal night at Gloucester? I know some other clubs do some.

Guess there is a lot involved that would need considering.

I've looked at this before and not found any other venues within range during the week, Worcester run on Friday nights too which is a shame as they have decent support for Supastox and Mardave class.

I'm pretty sure there is nothing in Bristol or Oxford which is quite bizarre.

There is a club at Leamington Spa - http://www.hinckleyrccc.co.uk/

Like this idea - perhpas give the club an opportunity to experiment at an alternative (bigger) venue??

Must admit the main reason I can't race at the club often is the fact it's on a Friday night which is difficult for me.

Would love a bit of mid week racing! If you hear of anything please let me know!

At the moment I am considering selling the GT12 setup as I'm simply not going to get to use it much with both Worcester and Gloucester running Friday nights.

I'm waiting to see what interest this weekend generates in the area. Could mean an influx of drivers and possibilities for different things, like more race nights or a bigger location.

This is me, wishfully thinking outloud, though.

I've been thinking the same, we cant realistically support many more drivers in the current venue on a Friday night so perhaps additional race nights or moving to a bigger venue is the plan depending if any interest is generated from the GP event.

I would love to race other nights and if the opportunity came up at GERCC, I would jump at it.

Hopefully something will happen ... won't sell the GT12 stuff just yet then, give it a few more weeks.

Probably the kind of topic that should be discussed at a AGM (extra meet wise). When is the next one?

Mike, I don't know if it's any good for you, but I found out there is a new club in Patchway, Bristol (Bristol Model Car Club) running GT12/Supastox on thurs night.

I saw some Bristol Model CC decals on some touring cars at the Quay's event and asked about the club. It only started a couple of months back and is running Touring and GT12s.

Every Thurs from 7pm, Patchway Labour Club BS34 5LJ, thats all I know!

I'm going to venture down at some point, thurs are good for me.
