I've been running the same set of Kourse Kings on my Hong Nor 4wd with a 6.5T since September!

have done 3 outdoor meetings on Astroturf and at least 9 meetings on carpet and they are still gripping and have spikes on them, what i would call 'half worn'.... think thats value for money!

I think running 1/8th electric and/or 1/10th stadium trucks as support classes would be a great idea.

want to run 1/8th electric buggy/truggy myself at some point but doesn't seem that popular so have held off getting one, makes sense as they are same size as a Short Course truck

I think we will all be surprised at how many Short Course Trucks drivers there are at the minute... with the recent exposure at Worksop and Ardent and the release of more top manufacturer cars recently, the top drivers are now getting the bug and i get the feeling that 2011 will be the year of SCT

10.5 and kourse kings won't need to buy anything new then

Spose I best work out where all the clubs are from me now then

(Likewise have been amazed at the the Kourse Kings durability, bought a 2nd hand set off an oopler a while ago - used them at one race meet, couple of practice sessions and 1 good ol bash in the park session and still look new )

I saw this thread the other day and have now bought a Hong Nor

Cant wait for this!!!!!!

It would be a good idea for a local shop to support with spares because I also see this as a chance to vent my rc frustration on a vehicle that can take it (ish)

Mark, the current plan is for the moto arena in April to be indoors and the September one to be outdoors.

Stuart, I'm not proposing any motor limit, as keeping to short course wheels and tyres controls the grip/handling anyway. With 5 out of 7 round to count.

My general thought for using 8th electric as a support class is because both classes are suffering from the same thing at the moment which is lack of 'proper' meetings/championships to race them at. So to have the two classes together would make sense. The mags will be covering it, so it produce the right amount of advertising for both classes.

Besides, stadium trucks had their time, and they didn't take off. I think these two classes together would.

To be honest I doubt you will need a support class. Last rears sc meeting was well attended and more have em now.
Longer qual heats and final and you will be full.

HPI supports the UK Shortcourse Nationals!

http://www.hpieurope.com/news.php?la...sue=2011030701

The rules are short and simple!
  • Specfic short course bodies only
  • 2.2"/3" short course tyres only (no rallycross wheels and tyres)
  • 2 cell lipo limit or 7.2V nimh max

We won't be running a control tyre as such but it will be confined to Sct specific wheels and tyres so that those who want to race out of the box can.
The rules are fairly relaxed for the series, and some minor rubbing will be allowed although serious/deliberate bashing will not be accepted.

I think the point was to help get 1/8th electric noticed. Even SC would have been a support class for something at some point, which helped it get noticed and take off....

Having 1/8th electric as a support class, would get people entering that wouldn't have normally entered, and vice versa. Therefore the people turning up to run there one class, may decide they want ago at the other class aswell...Keeping up? lol

Just my thoughts.
