I received my wheels today (Schumacher fitment in red) - all I can say is WOW! They look awesome!!

Can't wait to try them out on my ProCat... will get some photos up as soon as possible!

Edit; Photos added - trial fit onto my ProCat.

Received mine yesterday, Kyosho fittment in blue, pics don't do them justice they look amazing. The offsets aren't quite right for Kyosho though, the rear wheels need to sit further out for a Lazer (Lazer has less offset on the front wheels) or all four will sit too far in compared to standard on a Mid.
Any chance of having a pair of rears made with the correct offset, otherwise I'll find a way to space them out for my shelfer

Don't get me wrong, I am happy with them and I anticipated this may have happened as per an earlier post.
I may be able to take some measurements next week with a set of verniers against ZX-R wheels and confirm how the alloy wheels compare both front and rear

i did`nt have any kyosho wheels to give wayne to take measurements off, have since found a set of 12mm hex wheels that may be correct for kyosho but not sure, so here are the measurements
front wheels
10mm outer edge of rim to centre face
13.5mm inner edge of rim to centre face
rear wheels
10mm outer edge of rim to centre face
21.5mm inner edge of rim to centre face

anyone have a set of kyosho wheels for comparison ??

Were those 2.2" Kyosho wheels or 2"
The ZX-R 2.2" wheels are a different offset to the modern ZX-5 which has longer suspension arms.
The measurement we need to take is from the back face to the base of the hex cutout.
I'll measure a set of wheels I have here on the weekend if I can get some verniers otherwise will do on Monday when I visit my mechanic

I have taken some measurements, they are all from the rear face to the base of the hex, there is a little error in absolute values but they paint a clear picture of how they compare

Front Standard 21.5 mm
Front CNC 21.3mm

Rear Standard 27.5mm
Rear CNC 30.5 mm

So it seems the rears need to sit 3mm further out. I didn't compare the overall width of the wheels.
This extra offset can either be achieved by building up the hex area or giving the wheel face a deeper dish

Dan

OK good to know it wasn't just me.
So is there going to be another run so a correct pair of rears can be made.
Also, even though I double checked my measurements I think there needs to be more than 3mm of additional offset.

Default FIXING THE PROBLEM

Hello All,

We can make more for sure, but firstly I am disappointed to hear the wheels didn't fit as perfectly as I would have liked and can I please get an idea of what we are talking about here.....

Is it the rear wheels from models that made the parts "12mm hex kyosho fitting" need to have a larger offset and that effectively means the wheels will sit further away from centre of buggy by around 3mm on each wheel?

so Rev1 is wrong is rev2 correct>?

Thanks,
Wayne.

Hi Wayne, sorry for the slow reply.
Revision two is correct however I need to confirm if the difference is only 3mm or needs to be a little more.
I was wondering if rather than building up the rear area of the spokes they could just be angled deeper on the front face instead to achieve the correct spacing. No stress if thats not possible but it would be cool as it would mimic the standard wheels which have a deeper dish on the rear.
I'll work on getting the correct offset adjustment this week, but if anyone else who has bought and fitted these onto a Kyosho could chime in that would be great

I compared the alloy to a standard Kyosho rear wheel and the alloy is a hair under 2mm narrower than the standard Kyosho wheel.
So what this means is the face of the wheel actually needs to sit just under 5mm further out along with 2mm added to the overall width of the wheel
