Can we all ensure we book in for this event if you attending the meeting, and if your not attending can you remove yourself from the online booking.

Makes it easier for the Database to be collated!

Thanks

Looking for a bit of advice please.

Is RHR short or long pile Astro? Is it high grip? Just wondering if I'm going to need new tyres or not as my yellow mini spikes are about half worn on the rears and only one event old on the front cut staggers.

Thanks in advance

Its short but fairly high grip. New mini spikes do work a little better than worn ones though from my experience. Blocks work well too and last a loooooong time

Cheers, I'll wait until I have a better idea of the weather on the day before picking up a new set, but if dry I think I'll give the blocks a try.

That's a bit serious for a regional. I'd rather have referees watching out for dodgy driving.

Id like this too, just to make sure people wait if they make contact from behind.

I don't really think the waiting is the main issue to be honest! If someone whacks me (from behind, the side - wherever!), I've lost time and probably more than just that one position. I feel like lately there's been a massive drop in respect and awareness of other drivers which is pretty sad all round.

Referees would also be great for calling people through when lapping. Being an F5 this year, I've been in the first few heats every round and the majority of people are great when it comes to lapping, but it's really useful to have someone calling faster cars through.

There's been some pretty dodgy marshalling lately too - maybe we all need a refresher lesson in marshalling etiquette! ;-)

I do tend to agree, but the crashing part is mostly just poor judgement i think. The driving off after is a kick in the teeth though. If people know they will get a stop and go they will likely be more careful/patient to pass i reckon.

Im a reletive nooby but im always so careful not to hit people and i also wait if i gain a position from contact

There should always be scrutineering at any BRCA sanctioned event. Doesn't the N/E do it anymore?

I may be wrong but as I understand it, there's actually no rule that says there has to be scrutineering. Meetings are generally run by a small base of club members, most of whom race and don't have time to sit and scrutineer cars all day.

There is, however, a rule that says that starting and finishing tones must be demonstrated at drivers briefing - I don't think I've ever heard that!

And there's definitely a rule about not leaving the rostrum during a race...!

That's my point Gemma.
When I last did N/E regionals (or any regionals for that matter) there was ALWAYS a team of 4 that did scrutineering - 2 at a time so all could race. I volunteered on all the events that YORCC hosted.
But back then there were 80+ booked into every class as well.
Best racing times of my life! Only gave up because of the kids.

Or am I wearing rose tinted spectacles?

This tapping the back, getting caught up and so on is sometimes just close racing. You could be following someone really close and then the person in front makes a slight error/or the track is deteriorating and you hit the back of them. I think in a perfect world we all would miss each other and there would be no incidents. The fact is there are mixed ability heats and its got to be expected, just carry on and do the best you can.

On another note, when watching F1 most weekends during the season, taps, touches and close racing happens all the time. You don't see Webber, Massa, Grojean all pull over and let the person behind pass on race day when they've had there front wing ripped off or been tapped from the side.....

Something that has also been mentioned above, marshalling, is an issue, with certain individuals not marshalling as they would expect to be.

PS. its only RC car racing, if it gets to the point when your hurling abuse, you need to have a word with yourself...
