Hi everyone,
So far I've been driving my TRF201 with a sensorless system, and recently I've handed my car to some other drivers to try out/check the setup... I got the reply that they can't at all feel what's going on with the throttle. And when I drive their cars, the throttle reponse seems... more sensitive, more consistent.
I've quickly become quite active in the racing scene, and I'd like to switch to sensored electronics. However, I often have problems with electronics: be it a computer or the electronics for an RC car, I manage to pick the wrong things I guess. I don't trust my own expertise (or the lack of it), That's why I'm asking your help.
I've got the following demands about the ESC/Motor:
- ESC+motor needs to be reliable (I can't afford replacing fried electronics, and I don't want dodgy hardware - or firmware - like I had with my Xcelorin ESC a few years back).
- ESC+Motor will be used in an RWD AND FWD (I currently drive 4600kV in my RWD and the car hasn't got enough speed on the larger tracks imo).
- Motor has to have a closed casing.
- Size: Everything with a footprint smaller than 32.5x45mm will fit. If the height is less than 32.5mm an ESC with a 38x45mm footprint ESC will also fit (mounted on it's side).
- ESC+motor needs to be as cheap as possible (How conflicting is that with something reliable?)
- Bonus: ESC with adjustable Punch, Throttle Curve and PWM Frequency (important for smooth power delivery with FWD Buggy).
- Bonus: ESC that can be adjusted without the use of a PC or laptop.
