I've seen Matt with his car on his table once or twice, and occasionally he'll be wrenching on it, but he has one tool in use at any one time, i mean the rest are all hidden away in some secret pit box somewhere. He has lent us some things as well (thanks Matt) but I am not sure that we've returned them (sorry Matt).

Up early here, the weather looks ok, heard rumours the weather may change, but ok for now, at 6:15 local time.
To be fair, Jimmy hasnt been drinking with me, so dont know why the reports are slow, lol, maybe Jimmy is spending to much time looking at the trophie he won:thumbsup:

Judging from the photos it looks ok.
Judging from the video it looks like a hit and run.
But since Paul himself did not want Neil to be penalized it must have been a fair "race incident"...
Anyone got any practice times for 4WD?

Uploaded Day 4 now - I was up until 230am lastnight finishing stuff off - I think people have to remember I'm here to race and that I get nothing whatsoever from reporting - no advertising, no sponsorship etc, and it costs a lot to come and race here so I want to do well
I'm going to go finish off the day 5 (today) report now. Some ace photos coming as well - I've laid for hours in baking hot sun, dripping with sweat and getting coated in dust just to bring the good photos of the opply web
Day 4 has write up on the new Yokomo as well as an exclusive interview with the designer.

You should see it - the photos there are actually the old car. Old is relative tho, since it was only yesterday that car was made. Todays car is quite different. For sure he's got ideas bigger than the tools and materials he has to finish them trackside, but he brought two girlfriends with him so to me he's a legend.
Manolis didn't want photos inside the car - but it's certainly very unique and anyone that brings a self-built car to the Euros is a hero to me.

Like the Baldrick shell on Hupo's car too, and all the white ball cups/blue turnbuckles (anyone know what make they'd be to fit the Tam?), tempts me to go back to the 501 for max bling!!

ha ha was just thinking the same, (not that i have a wife) its not about how much you spend on a car.
I wonder if Neil will be using the B-max for the last two nationals, thought I read before the car was going straight back to Japan so guess its back to using the super-bling BX Worlds.
Of course we don't know how much the B-max is going to cost, maybe its £600 worth of non-bling car!!! :eh?:
P.s. thanks for all your hard effort on the coverage Jimmy, you're a star!

It's just a small scratch, you won't know the difference by the time you get it back, other than it will be gleaming:blush:.
PS that motor you had in there was too fast (not many people have heard me make that sort of statment before), for the track.

Mick asked for it, for the Southport National, but it clashes with a Japanese national. He expects one in the next month, as there are only 2 cars at the moment.
Mick hinted that it should be around the £200 mark, for the initial kit then there will be a BMaxx special version out with factor shocks ect.

The 4 holes that the front gear cover attaches to on the chassis are bust, and the front tower. When you see a picture of it, and i'm sure you will as the car was back in the pit lane being photographed, before I had even come down off the rostrum, it looks worse than it actually is.

What a few days it has been, have really enjoyed it, as always at these events you meet new people and make new friends which is what makes it so nice, wanted to say thanks to phil booth and his wife for giving me a lift to the track from the airport which saved me a nice taxi fair and also to roger and chris smith for allowing me to jump in for a lift for the time i was there, saved me a load of grief and also had a good laugh as well with the pair of them. roll on next year as cant wait to go again although want to do both classes this time ;)

Ahh, complex, I took one 501X, not my main one - car was wired up but badly and it was a mess. Mike rewired it so I could practice with it but you have to choose one chassis and I chose the Durga even tho the 501X felt good
I had a good week at the euros, well done to Neil, my week was erm..... Eventful.
On the way there a lorry hit cones in some road works and sent them in my direction, taking out a tyre bonnet, wing, fuel cap, mirror, and scratches down the side of the audi:thumbdown: which meant i had to do 1000 mile on a space saver. they will do more than 50mph:thumbsup:
Then i got abused when trying to get a tyre, one guy tried to sell me and tom a porsche when i only wanted a tyre, anyway the tyre cost me 200 euros. :(
Then the 2wd was just plain slow, it would not steer and just didnt work for me but obviously others got it to work, well done to tom and ellis. Then my card got blocked by my bank, i thought it was just a precaution which is ok but it turns out it was cloned and im 790 euro down for now.
4wd was better in a way but i went through 4 pulleys and belts, i finished 2 runs in all of 4wd and made the E. Then in the final i did another belt and pulley set:lol:
Now i just have to sort out my insurance for the car and chase up my lost cash and rebuild both cars.
But i had a laugh:thumbsup:
Jimmy, top top job with the report, love the relaxed approach and the additional irreverant content, looking forward to seeing more great pics.

ok now why did they chase you out
the first place we paid a tenner for what we had and walked out, we were there for over an hour before we got any food and that was rice for 2 people, then another 30 min before a main dish came, that was only for 1 person, I sat there for 90 min with no food at all, but what made it worse was the Itilains sitting next to us were finishing dinner and 4 people got take aways while we were waiting, and i mean ordered it and left with it while we sat there, so we left, the crazy old bird chased us to the car, she even grabbed me:o I told her to F off!!!!
The next night at a different place, food came quickly, was all together, was nice to eat, we paid what they said, then when we were nearly back to the car she came running and said she forgot to charge us for the chips, we did pay the rest.
And as far as the hotel breakfast food, well, I did take 8 rolls and cakes, haha

501 for 4WD? I assume dusty conditions like Jimmy said lead to too much crap/junk/dirt getting into the (especially) rear pulley and chewing up both the belt and pulley.

I can only assume that it was dust getting into the drive train that did it.
I run an x6 in 2wd, i think it has a lot to do with driving style, i dont use the brakes and scrub my speed off in the corner, on a low grip track this just doesnt seem to work

haha, thanks Northy! I was actually seriously a bit cheezed off that day - I got in late after doing the report until 2:30 am, then missed first practice as I had no cells charged, missed second because my wheel fell of before the start, go to glue my tyres and the blummin wheels are gone! what a morning. I don't think Rulux wheels and me are meant to be together - last time someone chucked them out of the hotel window (in Japan).

I would like to kindly ask for no photos of the 4WD car without body to be published. Both 2WD and 4WD cars will be finally available (got close for Euros 08 but did not have the time to complete the proper cars in time so we had to work with what was most raceworthy of our protos). Please feel free to express your interest in the cars or our parts via e-mail to troylos@hol.gr

Had to refer to Michael Bolger and his father.Without them, our first Euros experience would have been very difficult. We were very lucky to have you both close to us.

Just had a chat with Igor and Simon Bettens who are climbing a mountain somewhere in Italy and they insisted I greet all the Brits who were at the Euro's and helped them out. They had a blast!
So greetings from family Bettens and Moos (the dog) :)
