Cool race! Congrats to all involved. I am looking forward to December already... a year away!

I've not got many photos to share. There was simply nowhere to stand to get photos from so gave up after first round of qualifying. Here are some of the few photos I took:

http://www.glypo.com/photos/2009/petit/images/img_6916.jpg

http://www.glypo.com/photos/2009/petit/images/img_6859.jpg

http://www.glypo.com/photos/2009/petit/images/img_6871.jpg

Venue was awesome, only downside was spectator area was very limited due to the oversized (imo) scrutineering area. Can't have it all I suppose.

It's a shame though, considering I only took a very small amount of photos I was quite cuffed with results. Good artificial light mixed with natural light was great for photos. if only I had chance to take some more.... ah well I am sure oOple will have plenty (of better) photos to look at anyway.

The rest of mine are here:

http://www.glypo.com/photos/2009/petit/

The photos of people @ the event that flanders took are all up on Facebook (can't tag some as some people not my friends on FB). They came out really well, nice job mush! :D

Dont believe Ellis guys, he was so gutted to get beat in both classes narrowly that he kicked it down down all three flights of stairs..........

Not really, but if you saw the look on his face when he heard the smash when the bag fell over....priceless

In all seriousness, to add to what Ellis put, I was there for the 2wd/Truck on saturday to support the team lads and I have to fully agree it was a great event, well run and a HUGE amount of effort put in by all involved, from all of us here at DMS and X-Factory UK thanks to Nicholas from Petit and Ian and all his crew at Maritime for a wonderful event. (Look forward to seeing more off road there in the not too distant future)

Ian's a legend!

what a great character. kept the meeting bang on schedule & made sure everybody was where they needed to be all weekend. one of the very best :)

he must have a good sense of humour too as nobody else with a voice like that would wear a T shirt with "no one ever listens to me" on the front
he musta been a drill instructor in a previous life!

just one thing................

can we get a lift installed before the next one as i'm a fat knacker & those stairs nearly killed me with my 2 hauler bags :lol:

I've had a great weekend too! The organisation was brilliant and the track was difficult but very, very cool!

It was great to see the A-mains. What a pace! Simply unbelievable and it made me feel like a beginner :-). It's a shame Elvo just didn't make it to the A-mains to be the only non-English out there...

Also nice to see the oOples at work making their reports asap after the finish.

Thanks to Nicholas, Ian and all the others that made it a great race this weekend!

J'y etais! And I'll be back at the end of the year ;-)

Id like to say a big thank you to the guys that organised this as it was the best run event I have ever been to. Ran like clock work. The atmosphere was great as well and I had a blast even when things didnt go to plan.

Jimmy,
I finally got loaded up and managed to close the boot, which was hard work but now I am home relaxing without a couple of lemons around me. It was a rather amusing weekend.

Well done to all from the weekend, Nicholas for a great event & All at Maritime for a superb meeting. I thought the track looked superb & the atmosphere was really good.
Funniest part for me all weekend was while chatting to one of the European guys (sorry can't remember your name) near the main doors at the bottom of the stairs, you could hear Ian shouting on the 3rd floor!!!!!!! I think he needs to get over his shyness problem!!!!!!!!! He was top notch though, racing was really great, thouroughlly enjoyed the destruction derby at the end as well!!

Congrats to everyone involved.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first "Petit RC" and wanted to say a massive thanks to Ian and the Maritime Raceway crew, to Nicolas, to Dave Church for his unique commentary, to the girls dishing out the cake (I'm going to wear shorts that tight next year and see how many people puke) and to anyone else involved in putting on the show. Also a big thanks to the guys in Heat 3 and the E final for some great racing.

Can't fault the event at all - roll on December when I'll try and make the Durga go even faster!

After doing the Petit in France it was a long, long wait, and hugely anticipated. Was happy to assist (especially with the girls!)

We had 14 of us enter the Petit this year, we climbed the table with a 40 place improvement and looking to take the A-Finals next year!!!

Thanks for all the hard work! Made for a cracking weekend and we all had a great time.

Ian Knight - Legend!!! Maritime, Fantastic place, and friendly bunch. Ian was great bloke to chat too and when up to his eyeballs would still take the time for queries and resolve issues.

Looking forward to the next one, 4th Edition. Oh, and I will force myself to endure another task of searching through pictures and selecting PetitRC Girls should you require.;)

MattADH
12-02-2009, 04:09 PM
Hi DC

Unfortunately, I believe that it is too much work for the club to set up the off-road track for one-off meetings like this as they will want to protect their new carpet, etc and it takes a lot of help to get the features in place.

I am sure that Ian Knight will confirm if I am incorrect but after we spoke on Tuesday, I think that only major off-road events are being considered and club or regional-type meetings will be put on the back burner for the time being at least...
