Glad it's official!!!!

I am sure there are a few of us that live close to Maritime Raceway that can help out building the track or any other bits that need doing!!!!

I am a painting contractor so if you need any painting, and also I am becoming known as MCDC, as I have been commentating at most of the Nationals this year, and I also did the finals at the Euro's this year:thumbsup:

I know you are no racer in Truck UK championship class but each year at the PETIT RC RACE, this class is there. I expect 10 drivers maximum ?!?!? - Last edition= 16 racers - But only 4 from out of France (Germany and Austria).

What do you think about that? Do we test this class? and I will attribute only 10 places for truck.

Thank you for your advises.

For entry form, in a short time! It's ready but waiting some advises about Truck class.

Hmm, need to decide if I can afford to wait, or if it will already be full!! :woot:

If Lipo is allowed by EFRA/BRCA, will you only allow approved cells or any Lipo?

As per some other threads on here not sure if mine will be on the list! It's a lot of money to lose if I enter then can't sort batteries!

Well I'm not "Santa Claus" :D (euh.... yes, yes, i've 2 young child :)) but due to some email and your post, I decide to ACCEPT LYPO ;) BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT:

lipo will be allowed using additional lead to reach the legal weight in all three classes, as mentionned by the EFRA rules

I already change the rule on the race. Do not hesitate to dowload the new edition of the rule ;)

There should maybe be some reserved places to ensure there are spaces available for all of europe - then if some of those aren't taken up they can be opened up closer to the time, I don't think they'd go unfilled.

Manolis is coming!!! Great, its been a while since I have seen him. Great news. Gutted though that I am not allowed to do 2wd with the front belt taken out of my 4wd buggy, making it legitimate (I have raced this at a couple of regional BRCA events and was ok to do so) as it would have been fun racing against him. Sorted now booked in for 2wd, game on!!

Hi All,

Could someone just clarify the Li-Po situation for me please. I know Li-Po is being allowed subject to bringing your chassis up to the minimum weight but is there an approved Li-Po list? Is the event using the EFRA spec?

I run the large Trakpower 4800 saddles in my 501 and I would like to know if they will be allowed at the event. If they are not then I need to know to what spec I will be limited to when buying something else.

Cheers,
Jon.

From EFRA AGM minutes:
http://www.efra.ws/news/agm2008/Minutes_ElectrCommon.pdf

The maximum case size is as follows: -
Length: 139.0mm.
Width: 47.0mm. (The max. width includes any side exit wires).
Height: 23.5mm.). ( additional chassis location protrusions are allowed)
Saddle-Pack cells are allowed, but must comply with the above dimensions. Saddle-Pack cells must
have a combined dimension of 139.0mm max when placed end to end.

From EFRA AGM minutes:

I would like to clarify all emails, MP et messages than I received about Lipo since some days.

1/ The first rule used in priority is the own rule of PETIT RC
2/ EFRA if needed

In the PETIT RC rule, I mentioned "lipo will be allowed using additional lead to reach the legal weight in all three classes" -

And that means that all are accepted (trakpower, the new lipo in 2009,etc. I don't want to restrict ANYBODY and all dimension are welcome.....the only restrictive is that you will use additional lead to reach the legal weight in 3 classes

This will be added in the thread of NEWS part of the race website. PLease have a look on this NEWS part regulary, all news are added inside this part. On PETIT RC website (homepage), when I add a message in, you have the thread in the latest messages part.

Cheers,

Dont worry Lee - we wont let that happen...

At our meeting, we did emphasise this to the organisers and we have discussed having low-grip surfaces that will increase the fun as well as lap times.

Does this mean my Mamba max 5700 brushless motor will be legit as well as my Corally brushless?

I know that Ian and Nic are going to purchase new carpet but as to the grip level, I would assume that it will be high.

That said, there should be enough jumps and low grip sections to make for sensible lap times and a non-touring car set-up!

Do you know the game TRACKMANIA (http://www.trackmania.com/en/) Nations forever?
If some of you are interesting to play together, please tell me and we will organize races in Network during the weekend -
Just bring your computer with wifi connection and do not forget to download the game before.

That the race begins....

Thanks for that Nicolas I have now wasted loads of time collecting my medals on this. Fantastic game.

Dave, I reckon it will be a bit bigger than Worksop. But very simiular, so you should be ok on the same gearing:D but consider going up 1 tooth.

i would say personally down 1 or 2 teeth from worksop with the higher traction being also comes higher load on the motor...

Planning my route

using google maps it comes up with the following travelling from M11/M25 J6 south

18. At junction 6, take the M25 exit to Watford/M1/M20

19. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for M25 and merge onto M25 Partial toll road

20. Continue on A282 Partial toll road

so what's it cost for this bit of road that I've already paid my road fund licenece for and is there a route to avoid it to get to the venue?

Charge Rates

does that mean you'll be checking those using NiMH are charging @ 1C also as per BRCA guidelines which say manufacturers not matchers

BRCA advice (http://www.brca.org/BRCA/elecboard/news/2007%20NiMH%20cells%20%20Best%20Practice.htm)

2. Never exceed the manufacturers recommended fast charge rate. This should be 1C max., even if the manufacturer states higher. (C being rate of charge based on capacity of the cell, e.g. a 4200 mAh cell = 4.2 amps)

Drivers need to recognise that the 'matchers' recommendations are intended to achieve maximum performance. It is the recommendation from the cell manufacturer that should be used.

I'll be using both type of battery over the weekend
