I can't see it anywhere - or am I jumping the gun and Nicolas is not taking payment yet?

Either way - I'm in!!! And armed with a BJ4WE this year instead of the flying Durga :D

Regarding inserts,schumacher medium?

Personally i prefer the inserts that come in the b4 kit, proline white inserts or losi. However dan greenwood thinks im crazy so my best bet would be to ask a few and make your own opinion. Sorry i couldnt be more help.

We used these Schumacher minipins Yellow last winter and they wore out rather fast. Is it ok to use additives on the tyres? In the end we ran them as slicks and used Lrp topgrip carpet-2 on them. Worked fine if you applyed it 20 minutes before the race.
So far the only Swed signd up:bored:. Have to convince others to follow;)

Nice videos! The track we race TC at Maritime on is now longer ( another roll of carpet wider) and the new carpet has been laid on a new surface (MDF I think) so its billiard table smooth. All the jumps etc are there from last year, It will be cool to see what the lay out will be and what new features Petit/Maritime build

A friend and I are looking at attending this, but neither are BRCA members or competed at an events recently.

Any issues with that?

He'll prob run both classes, but I'm undecided yet as to whether I'd bring my XXCR Kinwald for the 2WD. Cat SX for 4WD, yes!

Looking to potentially book this week.

Benh
08-09-2009, 12:54 PM
You get to rate your own ability and that should you see you in a heat sharing with others of the similar ability. When a few of us went for the first time, we were useless, but we were in the bottom heat and out of the way of anyone with working vision, two thumbs and cars that drove in a moderatley straight line.

As for the BRCA membership, you don't need it for this event. Unless of course Maritime Raceway are BRCA affiliated and you have been to 3 of their meetings already this year?

Get booked in, it's a cracking event.

Nicolas Petit
08-09-2009, 03:24 PM
just to inform you that some (a lot of!) of you are registered and are in the waiting payment list.
Each day 1 or 2 drivers book in and pay in the row and of course get the official entry place.
Consequently some of you in the waiting payment list will not race if you wait again... If everybody pay now, it will be full and some of you will be in the waiting list!

Just confirm by your payment and you will be sure to race at this moment.
It will be sad to stay at home and been registered x months early! WAKE UP and Go ahead!

Theres pics of last year on the petit website, doesnt look even close to being a car killer.

Do we need BRCA approved lipos for this? Mine are all ROAR approved but not on the brca list. Just wondering, wouldnt mind an excuse to buy new batts anyway.

Running LIPO stiff chassis and other optional bits etc. So shouldn't make that much difference.

I'll get my Schumacher shocks built for Petit - did you drill the pistions for that event and what shock lenghts?

Running Losi shocks at the mo, but will give the Schumacher ones a go for Petit

You can get there for Friday evening so as to lug your gear up the 4 flights of stairs but it is whether you wish to leave your expensive kit there over night. Best to make sure everything is in big bags for the long haul! Otherwise you will need to be there early doors on Sat and Sun to lug the gear 4 flights of stairs. I think last year we were there around 6-6.30 as it opens 7am and you need to get in the queue.

The Maritime Racing facility is on its own floor at the (old) Ropery building in the historic docks. There is security to go through to get on to the site and the building itself is kept under lock and key by club officials when not in use.

Do not worry about your gear overnight as the venue is secured when the last person leaves. Bear in mind that some of the club racers leave their equipment out from one week to the next!

Last year I left all my stuff at my pit to save time the following morning. I am sure that your concerns will disappear when you get there...

Hope this helps

I know this has been asked before (and not really answered!), but what are the rules on Lipos at the Petit 2010?

I know it's not connected to the BRCA, etc but the Petit rules on cells mentions that they must comply with the 2009 EFRA list (that is the same as the BRCA list from what I can make out)... May be it's been lost in translation but it's not clear to me:confused:

Therefore, we have to use BRCA 2009 approved Lipos?

£50 entry fees, 100 mile round trip - don't want to get there to find out that I won't be able to run because of my new Lipos....

I'm sure Lipos such as the Trakpower Dark Series will be 2010 approved but that list isn't published until April...

If BRCA approved then it should be fine as they state ifmar and efra but brca is also applicable as we are racing in the uk, even if it isnt mentioned in the rules.

Petit Rule book:

"Battery: Listed in the EFRA list -> NICAD / NIMH UP TO 7.2V and Lypo will be allowed

Not ideal. But the English snow doesn't last long. All should be well again by next week.

On Monday our Met Office monkeys will have a better prediction for that weekend. By the time you get your luggage and car, it will be about 10-10.30; at that time of night, you should get a nice easy journey.

M25 is fine today, inspite of heavy snow flurries. This weekend looks like it could snow quite heavy, but who knows for the following weekend. From heathrow it is mainly motorway all the way so you'll be fine.

Am I correct in thinking that some pit tables and chairs I provided (sure I read that somewhere)??? If it is correct does anybody have any idea as to the size of the tables?
If not is there any limit to the table size we can bring (asking as I want to have some spare space for the Kyosho boys to have a PC & set-up station)

What set-up station are you using?

The pitting area is permanent and there is a space, chair and mains socket for every competing driver. I am not sure if the club will use the extra space upstairs or not....

Pitting space is not tight but its best to take in only what you need.I hav to say that what the club has achieved since setting up the venue is very impressive...

Judging by Sky news weather the 8 of us racers from Ireland might struggle to get to the race. We would be driving from Holyhead which looks like it might be a nightmare. Here's hoping it clears up enough for us to make the trip!!!!

Neil it's not that bad on the room front, you just have to carry it all up 3 flights of stairs but it's not too bad!

I normally take a hauler bag and tool box and cars, there is room under the benchs so up to you!

It's down to how many times you want to go up and down the stairs to bring extra stuff you may not need.

Hi Ian,

I'm based in Chester so about 80 miles from Holyhead. The main roads are fairly clear so providing there are no incidents you won't be too bad. It will be slow as you reach North East Wales (assuming you're planning to come straight accross the A55) due to snow but you should be ok.

The motorways and main A Roads in and around Chester / West Cheshire are ok. Just plan to stay on the main roads
