This year, on the 5th July, a team of two drivers ‘Team No Known Way’, myself and my good friend Jon will be leaving London for Ullaanbaator in Mongolia in a 1995 M reg Skoda Favorit 5 door hatchback. For more details on the rally please visit www.mongoliarally.co.uk

After the start in London (details to be confirmed), the team will drive to Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia via 10,000 miles of roads ranging from the right hand streets of the UK, the high speed Autobahns of Germany, to the roads of ex-Soviet satellite countries and dirt tracks of Kazakhstan and Mongolia where paved roads are an exception. Through three entire deserts and five mountain ranges, our route will take us through France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and finally Mongolia where we finish (hopefully) at Daves Bar in Ulaan Bataar, the capitol of Mongolia.

Once in Ulaan Bataar, we will donate some of our time and effort to help the CDPF (Children’s Development Protection Fund), by donating the vehicle to them. We are also trying to raise monies for this charity and our two chosen charities N.A.B.D (National Association of Bikers with a Disability) and GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust)

The trip is expected to last approximately 4-5 weeks depending upon our success in dodging rogue bandits, passing through potentially unstable fledgling governments, camel and yak crossings, rivers, floodplains, rocky terrain, and herds of wild horses.

During the course of our drive we will receive no assistance from a support team, nor will there be any rescue crews to follow us should we encounter trouble. Other than the fellow ralliers, we will be completely on our own. We're very fond of the world - so much so that we want to use this adventure to call attention to the very important charities that are doing some great work. We feel that these charities are so important that we're willing to drive around the world in a very cheap car to raise awareness and funds for their efforts. In addition to raising funds and awareness for charity, our goal is to dynamically educate the public about the diversity of the world and its people.

We are hoping to raise a minium of £1000 in sponsorship for this epic trip. In return for your generous support and assistance, your business will obtain signage on the rally car (size commensurate with funding), considerable media coverage beginning almost immediately which will be sustained for many months until we return in early August, photos and high quality video footage of the journey, and website links. We will put forth our very best efforts to make this the most successful dollar for dollar return that your business has ever realized from a sponsorship.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Any help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me Andy, chewie_sparkle@fsmail.net

We look forward to your reply.

Yours truly,
Andy Turnbull
