I think it suits the BRCA because astro surfaces hold together well whatever the weather and also they manage to endure the thousands of laps that get put on them during a national weekend....

My technique to make rears last longer is to balance them with the fronts. When my rears go in 2wd I just put a set of worn fronts on (yellow minispikes). You wont have the same ultimate grip level...

Touring cars usually run spec classes, I think they run boosted 13.5s at Crystal Palace, but definately check what class they run exactly, because its probably not just a case of using the electrics...

There will probably be no grip on the normal line and an almost comical amount of grip off the normal line. So experiment a lot with lines however un-natural they might be. Stay off the kerbs....
