I'd say use dot 4 brake fluid, soak the body in it for a few hours and scrub the paint off using a brillo pad.

As for connectors you can use 3.5mm or 4mm corrally's although i have seen people using deans on brushed motors for a quick release. As for insulation, heatshrink should be fine.

I'd say the LRP s10 blast BX2. It's plenty fast enough in brushed from and very durable for what it is. The kit tyres even work well on astro, but the kit ESC is not lipo proof on the brushed version.

I don't see why you guys have an issue with it, I can fit all my normal sized electrics in without too much bother, although I did have to trim some out of the back to give the motor wires clearance....
