Great. I think my layout should be OK as well then. Just wanted to make sure there was enough clearance for the ESC fan.

Thanks for the help - yes it makes perfect sense!!

proline vortex

Hi All,

Thinking about getting a new B44 body.

Have any of you got the proline vortex?

I wanted to know if an LRP TC spec (with fan) will fit under the body?

Thanks.

That's what I did as well. I think the slipper spring needs to be fully compressed and then released for it to work consistently as a spring, otherwise I think it will just gradually shorten and...

Thanks for the info.

A fresh layer of heatshrink and a watchful eye required I think.

How (electrically) conductive is carbon fibre?

I'm using lipos in a B44 with the wires 'inboard'. The wires are quite tight between the battery strap and the carbon fibre topdeck. If the heatshrink wears through on the battery wires could I...

Shake down day for me today.

Well the car runs!

Doesn't do turning, going straight or jumping. Turns out it's not quite like riding a bike! Mini spikes ordered, rethink weight distribution...

Used the servo today. Seems pretty good. May not be as quick as some, but plenty quick enough for me. Quite heavy though? Car seems v nose heavy (lipos in a B44 certainly not helping!).

I wish I did prefer a wheel - there seems to be a lot more choice.

I'm not that happy with brake control with a wheel/pistol.

Sticking with sticks - Too old to learn anything new .

The UK seems to be out of 3GR 2.4MHz at the moment.
I guess a lot of people are buying in.

If I can find a decent 40MHz at 'bargain' price, I think I'll go for that. If not I'll put my name down...

That's what I thought.

Is there a good explanation why the shop guy might be right? (apart from 2.4 costs more!)

Have any of you had problems using 40Mhz around 2.4GHz?

2.4GHz

I'm thinking about getting a new radio set.

I asked in my local shop about a 40MHz set. I was told that if I use a 40MHz (or 27Mhz) radio around lots of 2.4GHz sets (e.g. at a race meeting) I'd...

I used to 'race' (mainly crash) there with my Cougar 2. It was the track with the tight banked turn wasn't it?

Drove to the track yesterday.

I'm guessing you need a field/12V charger or is there a mains supply on race days?

Thanks.

I bought the b44 from BMM, I'll hopefully get a decent price for the electrics.
I'm (pleasantly) surprised you can just walk onto the track. I think I'll head down soon.

Practice needed!

Hi All,

I'm coming back to 1/10th offroad after a long time away. I've bought an Associated B44 and am waiting to get some electrics.

I hope to race at Bury, but want to get a bit of practice...
