Think the only difference is that you can rebuild the sv2 ones

Don't think so, fairly sure SV2 drive shafts are longer.

They do if you couple it with SV diff as indeed SV driveshafts are shorter. I personally ran this combination at European championship in my SVR and SV2 is the same as SVR diff and driveshafts length wise.
